Well held when making her debut in a minor event at Windsor (1m, good/firm) earlier in the month beating just one rival home. Yard not that well known for their 2yo's (1-13 this year); looks one for the longer term.

Lacked the experience to make much of an impression so far, beaten 18L on her debut here over 7f before producing a non-threatening sixth at Newbury over the same trip (Hot News well behind). May well do better in time, but others preferred.

Beaten 23L when last of nine on her debut at Newbury (7f, good/firm) looking as though she's one for the longer term. Failed to show enough to be of interest here with the hood now going on for the first-time; best watched for now.

Showed some marginal gains from first to second run leaving the impression at Thirsk last time that she'll be better once she has a mark for nurseries. First start on the AW stepping up to 1m for the first-time; further progress expected.

Sets the standard having been made favourite on her debut at Newmarket (7f, good/firm); beaten by one with experience and a lesser-fancied stablemate (same ownership; winner since). May have needed the run; further improvement expected.

Newcomer; Night Of Thunder filly (£38,000 yearling), closely related to Japanese 7f 2yo winner Trillionaire, dam winner at up to 1m1f (closely related to useful 6f-1m4f winner First Flight). Yard 7-24 with 2yo's this season (1-9 with debutants).

Camelot filly out of a dam 1m3f winner (also won over hurdles), half-sister to 2yo 6f/7f winner Nouvelle Neige. Handed awkward wide draw for her debut; yard 11-50 with juveniles this year (4-24 with newcomers); best watched unless market speaks.

Offered little on her debut over 7f (started 20-1) from a yard that are no stranger to juvenile success (43-200, 21% this year). Showed little more than she did on her debut returned from an 11 week break last time over C&D; one of the lesser lights.

Newcomer who looks the pick of the two from the yard; by Nathaniel (160,000 guineas yearling); dam Group-placed 6f winner, half-sister to 7f 2yo Group 3 winner Craftsman. Yard 16-60 with debutants this year; very much respected given her connections.

Finished third on debut over 6f at Newbury (looked in need of experience; race produced two next time out winners); failed to make the considerable progress expected next time over 7f here. 1m may suit her better, not one to take lightly.

Bred to be smart, showed plenty of ability on her debut over 7f here overcoming her lack of experience (slowly away), only headed late on. Finished just in front of Run Wild (second start); sure to come on for that, leading player, nicely berthed.

Produced a promising first effort in line with her appealing pedigree (by Gleneagles out of Snow Fairy) at Doncaster (7f, good); gave the impression the run was needed. Not especially fancied on debut (16-1); holds a Group 2 entry, sure to do better.

Forecasts

Tanita (10/11), National Treasure (5/2), Run Wild (9/2), Virgin Snow (14/1), Night Colours (20/1), Royal Nation (25/1), Nurse Finch (50/1), Divine Connection (66/1), Prestigious (100/1), Impression (100/1), Alsukar (100/1), Hot News (100/1)

Verdict

Hard to think this won’t be an interesting heat that will throw up winners in the future with National Treasure well to the fore in the market having started favourite on her debut showing plenty to work on but she does have an awkward draw here. TANITA already has a verdict over Run Wild at 7f here when they finished third and fourth respectively but the former was making her debut so more progress is expected from this smart sort stepping up 1m. Newcomers Royal Nation and Night Colours are both worthy of respect coming from stables who are no strangers to 2yo winners. The beautifully bred Virgin Snow should appreciate this trip with progress expected this time around.
