Expensive purchase as a yearling who showed promise for a long way in 1m Newmarket maiden in early August. Doesn't have big-race entries but pedigree suggests he will improve with racing. Respected.
Regressed from previous outing when a well-held in 7f Goodwood maiden at the start of the month. That form has been boosted and has already been beaten by some smart rivals. Enters calculations.
110,000 gns purchase as a foal. Third for. Half-Brother to 2m hurdle winner Chingachgook and dam was related to Group 3 winner Astrophysical Jet. Pedigree of interest but yard not known for juvenile winners.
140,000 gns Muharaar colt. 8L fourth in minor event at Lingfield (7f, good) on debut start when staying on well. Should improve from that effort.
Zoffany colt who has been well beaten in two starts to date, including 14L fifth in 1m Wolverhampton contest. Significant improvement needed to be competitive.
Expensive purchase who has been unable to land a blow in two starts on the track. Latest 12L last of seven at Newmarket (1m) offers limited appeal.
Outstrip filly who cost £9,500 as a yearling. Half-sister to up to 6f winner Shobrom. Yard rarely has juvenile winners so best watched on debut.
$330,000 daughter of War Front. Slow start cost all chances when fifth of nine at Kempton (1m) on debut start. Will do better and bang in there if breaking away well.
Forecasts
Baptism (7/4), Gold Souk (5/2), South Coast (4/1), Red For All (8/1), Sky Flyer (11/1), Moulmein (12/1), Today Power (33/1), Noafence (50/1)
Despite looking exposed more than most, preference is for GOLD SOUK, who has mixed it with some highly regarded juveniles this season. His recent effort at Goodwood was better than it looked on paper (the second has gone on to run well at York) and his experience could set him in good stead to belatedly get off the mark. South Coast looks to be the main danger but she looks to be a handful during races, which is a concern, while Baptism looks a long-term prospect for his powerful yard.
