Two best runs have come on the AW (Polytrack; Kempton); showed improved form to get off the mark last time (1m4f). Now makes his Fibresand debut off 5lb higher mark; should go well if he can handle the surface; showed a good attitude last time.

Far from the force of old she was when with her previous yards although she does have excuses for her latest modest efforts (short of room last time). No Fibresand form to call on but lurks on a dangerous mark is she can find some form.

Drawn a blank in 10 attempts here over various trips including this one; appears to have totally lost his form of late. Losing sequence stretches back just over a year now, hard to see a revival on the horizon given his latest form.

Had a wind op prior to switching to this yard and being gradually upped in trip (all to no avail), tried over 2m last time at Nottingham. Already tried on the AW but not on this surface; stretching the imagination to see him winning this.

Fresh from a wind op this handicap/Fibresand newcomer has so far shown little although his yard have been known to do well with this sort. Steps up markedly in trip off a lenient mark, any market support needs to be noted.

Took back-to-back handicap over 7f/1m here earlier in the year but has yet to prove that she stays this far (first try over this far). Only runner with winning form here but with doubts about her stamina she has a vulnerable look surrounding her.

Hardly surprising to see him equipped with cheekpieces for the first-time having looked rather unwilling last time in a low-grade 1m6f Catterick handicap. Placed in bumpers (modest form) he makes limited appeal on Fibresand debut.

Over six years since he recorded a third here (sole visit to the track) he returns having shown little of late for this yard with a falling mark being of little use at the moment. Often starts slowly; hopes pinned on a return here to revive.

Strong in the betting on stable debut over 1m2f at Chelmsford he gave the impression that there may be a little more to come off this mark. Modest enough but he's shown more than most of these if he takes to the surface; more appeal than most.

Verdict

A basement grade handicap which produced a surprise result last year and could well do so again, it’s that sort of contest with very little Fibresand form to go on. Therefore, a chance is taken with BLOWING DIXIE who is at least at the right end of the handicap and has fewer convictions than most. By Dubawi a sire with a 28% strike-rate with his Fibresand runners he’s given the vote over another virgin on this surface Lauberhorn Rocket who at least has proven winning form. Miss Ranger lurks on a dangerous mark if she can find some form while Dolly Dupree who has winning form on Fibresand can get involved if she does stay. Bannockburn is the flyer to watch in the market.
