2lb higher than for finishing second to a potential Group-horse in the shape of Khaadem in the Stewards Cup here earlier in the month. Ultra-consistent of late but does have a career-high mark to contend with now.
Notched first success of 2019 when successful here over 5f in a three-way photo-finish. 2lb higher now but this isn't quite as competitive. Steps back up to 6f and has won off a mark as high as this before so must enter considerations.
Highly consistent sort at this level and only 3lb above last winning mark which came at Windsor in July (6f; good to firm). Can forgive recent quiet effort which came in the Stewards Cup over this C&D.
Makes seasonal comeback & has first run on these shores for the first time since December after a disappointing winter stint in Meydan. Record when fresh doesn't instil much confidence either so he can only be watched.
Mark has fell down to the same one he scored off on final appearance of 2018 at Doncaster (6f; good to soft). Big disappointment at Newmarket (6f; good to firm) though when failing to beat a rival after posting a highly encouraging comeback run.
Back down to the mark he scored off on his seasonal return at Doncaster (6f; good) in May. Despite this being a bit easier than his latest assignments, he hasn't looked like winning of late, albeit in top sprint handicaps.
Raised another 5lb after following up Windsor (6f; good to firm) victory in July with another success there just 12 days ago. Doesn't looked to have reached her ceiling just yet, and another bold show is expected.
Forecasts
Open Wide (15/8), Embour (7/2), Green Power (4/1), Show Stealer (7/1), Sir Maximilian (8/1), Glenamoy Lad (12/1), Ice Lord (14/1)
Ice Lord may have needed the run when trailing in last of six after a four-month break at Newmarket last time, but he still has it to prove. After coming off best in a three-way photo-finish in a typically competitive sprint handicap here last time, Green Power has strong claims. The hat-trick chasing Show Stealer is an intriguing runner after a pair of victories at Windsor. He looked like he had more left in the tank last time, and beat OPEN WIDE by a head two starts ago. The selection is strongly fancied to reverse that form though, now that he is 6lb better off with that rival and posted a career-best when second in the Stewards Cup over this C&D last time.
- Open Wide
- Green Power
- Show Stealer
