Something must have been amiss last time when he finished last of eight at Sligo (1m2f; good) and was eased down inside the final furlong. Behind Takeachancejimmy prior to that when the pair met at Ballinrobe (1m1f; good). Has questions to answer.
Form has curtailed slightly since he made a winning seasonal reappearance in May. He did manage to post a more encouraging effort over C&D two starts back, but not as good recently when disappointing at Galway (7f; good).
Good placed form over this C&D when third here three starts ago, but work to do to reverse the form of his most recent start when he was three-and-a-half length behind Takeachancejimmy. Others have more compelling claims.
Tremendously consistent sort who has finished runner-up the last twice, including when coming off second-best in a photo finish at the Galway Festival (1m; good). This is slightly easier, and he is entitled to be bang there.
Produced a disappointing first run for this stable when she could only manage eighth at Cork (7f; good). Hard to know what to expect from her now, as she looks to be going backwards. Perhaps best to maintain a watching brief.
Produced a trio of excellent efforts in defeat of late, finishing runner-up on each of those occasions. Now drops back to 1m, and is only 1lb higher than for his most recent effort. Player when in such good heart.
Not at his best on either of his last two starts at Leopardstown & Galway. In good form prior to those efforts in May, but he does have a bit to prove now. Hard to fancy.
Less exposed than some of his rivals, and he broke his maiden duck over this C&D three starts ago. Fared competitively when turned out quickly to contest a pair of competitive events at the Galway Festival (1m/1m4f; good). Major player.
Bottom-weight who posted a clear seasonal-best when third in a hot handicap at Leopardstown (1m; good to firm) last time. Needs to build on that, but holds genuine place claims if able to do so.

Insane Bolt (10/3), Outside Inside (5/1), Sharp Focus (5/1), Takeachancejimmy (6/1), Spiorad Saoirse (7/1), Red Striker (8/1), Charcor (10/1), High Altitude (11/1), Mr Ormsby (12/1), Treble Cone (14/1)
This is a decent-looking handicap, with the progressive Sharp Focus considered as he returns to the C&D over which he broke his maiden duck at last month. He was only sixth in a competitive affair at Galway, but had excuses regarding the trip. In a similar vein of form at present is Takeachancejimmy, who made it a hat-trick of seconds when a half-length runner-up at Sligo a couple of weeks ago, and also holds a few of today's rivals on previous encounters with them. The one to be with though, is INSANE BOLT who has been on the go since March but is in the form of his life and was desperately unlucky when beaten a short-head in a photo-finish at Galway most recently.
- Insane Bolt
- Sharp Focus
- Takeachancejimmy
