C&D winner in September last year, in the winners' circle again at Fontwell in June (3m2f, good to soft) and fair run here over hurdles since. Career-high mark to be defied but not passed over going back chasing.
No win since 2015 and form leaves plenty to be desired having been pulled up at Warwick in May on sole outing of 2019 so far. Mark is sliding, should he show an inkling to take advantage.
2-12 over fences, including ½L second behind Bermeo over C&D last September. Decent reappearance last month at Southwell over 3m and possibilities if building on that fourth place effort.
Wide margin defeats for this trainer in two runs over C&D and 2m5f here lately, leaving an uphill task in front of him this evening seemingly.
Maiden, three-time runner-up over C&D in 2017, though didn't match best of those efforts in one run at the track last year. Off since poor Uttoxeter run 13 months ago and sports array of headgear on return.
Close second at Worcester last time over just shy of 3m, defying interference to get close to the winner. Will have some claims if staging a repeat, though remains a maiden after 34 runs in both codes.
Mare with little form in five starts under rules, including handicap chase debut over C&D last month (beaten 22L into fourth of six). Eased 5lb but remains hard to fancy.
14-race maiden has produced two of her better efforts over C&D and at Worcester last month. Place claims on those showings.
Last win came at Stratford in 2017 in 3m2f handicap hurdle and arrives here having finished second at the venue last time out. Won this race two years ago, not one to rely on heavily however.
Forecasts
Orchestrated (7/2), Bermeo (4/1), Culm Counsellor (9/2), Moreece (9/2), Ann Maries Reject (7/1), Royale Django (8/1), Quick N' Easy (10/1), The Overflow (16/1), This Breac (33/1)
The long-standing maiden MOREECE has only had five runs over fences and his second at Worcester last month was attained despite meeting interference in the run. Jack Tudor takes a handy 5lb off now and, with a repeat, they should go close. Former C&D winner Bermeo is the obvious danger having scored this summer over fences and run well last time over hurdles. Ann Maries Reject has produced better efforts in two starts of late and enters calculations.
- Moreece
- Bermeo
- Ann Maries Reject
