Starting to look very well handicapped now, and came right back to form when a ½l second at Windsor on latest start. Would only need a repeat of that to see him go close, and with conditions fine, could be the one to beat.

Falling quite quickly in the handicap after a series of moderate efforts this year, and although you can argue her latest couple of efforts have been a step back in the right direction, not enough to convince her turn is near.

Only one win in 20 starts is a concern, but on the plus side, it did come over this C&D and she has been in respectable form for much of the summer. Overall win record if offputting but in a weak contest, isn't out of calculations.

5lb lower than last win now, and although her recent form reads pretty awfully, there are excuses (trip, ground) and now a professional jockey takes over from a lady amateur. Reasons, then, why she may go better, and not totally discounted.

Nothing if not consistent, twice a winner this spring/summer and in the frame on four other occasions. Bit below par on only start here, so yet to totally prove himself on the track, but excellent jockey booking and has to be considered.

Forecasts

Big Time Maybe (13/8), Glamorous Rocket (5/2), Ghepardo (11/4), Pink Iceburg (7/1), The Lacemaker (33/1)

Verdict

Easy enough to make a case for four out of the five that line up. It wouldn't be the biggest shock to see The Lacemaker go better despite some moderate efforts lately, with John Egan taking over in the saddle from an amateur and these conditions suiting her better than some of the races she's been in lately. Big Time Maybe is rarely far away and similar comments apply to Ghepardo, but this looks the chance that GLAMOROUS ROCKET has been waiting for and she can finally get her head back in front.
  1. Glamorous Rocket
  2. Big Time Maybe
  3. The Lacemaker
