17:40 Beverley Thu 15 August 2019
Course specialist; driven clear to beat Ideal Candy by over 1L here (1m2f, good to firm) in July; 7lb higher over a shorter trip; finished behind today's rival Graceful Act on his penultimate start.
Broadly consistent and holds few secrets from the handicapper as a result; runner-up at this two-day Beverley fixture in 2018 (beaten a neck by Archie Perkins).
Made all to score here (7½f, good) in May and has filled the runner-up position on both subsequent visits to the Westwood; possibly just a fraction high in the handicap at present.
Yet to score on turf (0-9) and hasn't really threatened to do so in three attempts in 2019; 2lb lower than when fifth of nine at Ffos Las (1m2f) 17 days ago.
Veteran; back to winning ways for the first time in a couple of years when scoring for this rider over 1m2f here (good) 16 days ago; had the measure of Bollin Ted (fourth) and John Caesar (fifth) on that occasion; 3lb higher today.
Nearest at the finish when third over 7½f here (good to firm) on her penultimate start; hasn't won since August 2017 but resides on a perfectly fair handicap mark and evidently appreciates the stiff nature of this track; chance.
Beverley regular; has won twice (here on soft) in a 63-race career; beaten only ½L by Bob's Girl on his penultimate start, but was held (fifth) behind another of today's rivals Graceful Act latest.
Sole win (1-25) came over 7f at Ayr in August 2017; had raced in similar company at this track prior to having a spin over hurdles at Market Rasen (fourth) last month.
