Held on determinedly when scoring at Redcar (1m1f, good to firm) last month; 5lb higher with the assistance of Simon Walker in the saddle; previously a fair fourth here (1m2f).
Three-time winner and is capable from this kind of mark; just 2lb higher than when a close third to Keepup Kevin over 7½f (good to soft) here in June.
17-race maiden; met trouble in running when going down by a head to Street Poet at Wolverhampton (1m½f) in June; probably best on an artificial surface, although was placed on sole Beverley appearance (for Clive Cox).
Made a winning start for this trainer/jockey combination at Wolverhampton (1m½f) early last month; runner-up twice since, including when headed close home at Newbury (under Becky Smith); 7lb above her last winning mark.
5lb lower than when winning over 1m2f here (good) in April 2018; modest since but could improve fitness wise for her seasonal reappearance at Redcar (eighth of 14).
Back in the winners enclosure when showing a sharp turn of foot to beat Be Bold by 1L at Pontefract (1m, good) last week; carries a 5lb penalty; trainer also saddled an emotional winner at Lingfield on Tuesday.
A four-time course winner; hasn't been in the best shape on the track so far in 2019, falling 11lb in the weights as a result; offered a shade more at Redcar (fourth) latest; couldn't be dismissed for place terms.
Four-time course winner (7½f-1m1f) who is yet to score anywhere else on turf; out of sorts in 2019; 8lb lower than when fifth of 11 to Gabrial The Tiger here in May.
Sole win came at odds of 1/5f for Hugo Palmer in a 1m2f Chelmsford maiden in November 2017; stable among the winners of late but this mare hasn't threatened to add to her tally since a winter AW campaign.
24-race maiden; placed (well beaten) at odds 200-1 in a 7½f seller here last month; very unlikely to be competitive.
Forecasts
Luna Magic (6/4), Whatwouldyouknow (5/1), Coviglia (5/1), Sumner Beach (11/2), Ghazan (14/1), Corked (16/1), Relight My Fire (16/1), Make On Madam (16/1), Dose (25/1), Prince Consort (40/1)
The majority of the leading protagonists are partnered by the strongest riders, with the recent Redcar scorer Whatwouldyouknow having the assistance of Simon Walker, Sumner Beach is ridden by Patrick Millman and the capable Coviglia is the mount of Joanna Mason. All three of the aforementioned horses look virtually guaranteed to run their race, but the preferred option is LUNA MAGIC. This mare has been at the top of her game since joining Archie Watson and is reunited with Brodie Hampson in seeking to build positively on last month's Wolverhampton success.
- Luna Magic
- Coviglia
- Sumner Beach
