Hasn't won since Windsor success in July 2018 and has regressed since being tried over middle-distance trips recently, including 10L defeat in 1m2f Wolverhampton handicap. Hood is on for the first time but this looks a difficult ask.

Hasn't won since shock Goodwood maiden success. Well beaten on his recent starts and was an 11L ninth in Goodwood handicap (1m1f, good to firm) on latest start. Even more to prove now.

Four-race maiden who probably needed the run on comeback at Kempton (1m, standard) in June. Likely to strip fitter over this trip and more is required, but he is well-bred.

Lightly-raced maiden who flopped on handicap debut at Newcastle (1m4f, standard) in April. Must improve on that but has been gelded since which may irk out improvement.

Losing run stretches back to three years and looks to be hard to train. Regressed from some promising efforts when 5L third at Sandown (1m1f, good) but trainer is currently operating at a 25% strike rate.

Didn't get the run of the race on handicap debut when finishing a staying-on fourth in 1m2f Haydock handicap in July. Form of that race looks windy but connections tend to do well with these types in handicaps.

Consistent without winning and made a pleasing start to life at 1m2f with good third in similar handicap at Nottingham on latest start. Off the same mark and shortlisted despite speedy pedigree.

Course winner in the past and shaped with credit on first try over 1m2f in Sandown handicap last time out. Off the same mark for that effort and that form makes him a leading contender.

Remains a maiden but has some good form lines so far. Recent 4L third in 1m Kempton handicap suggests he will thrive for a step up in distance and does command respect.

Offered very little in four starts to date, including when 18L sixth on handicap debut at Lingfield (1m4f) on seasonal debut. Usually pulls quite hard so needs to learn to settle.

Put in one of his worse performances when weakening in 1m2f Ffos Las handicap on latest start. Wasn't positioned greatly that day but would be dangerous to ignore from the foot of the weights.

Verdict

GLOBAL EXPRESS hasn't offered the promise he was expected to in his career to date, but he took the eye on his handicap debut when doing his best work at this finish and could be on a dangerous handicap mark if he is able to get the run of the race this time. Starfighter sets the form standard but is in a purgatory-like position trip-wise at the moment and bumps into a few good horses during races, while the likes of the well-bred Glory and Miss Blondell need consideration for the places, especially the latter whose trainer had a big-race success at the weekend.
