22,000gns foal, €12,000 juvenile; seventh foal; half-brother to three winners, including Avon Pearl (5f-1m+); wears a tongue-tie on debut.
2

Horse silk

Bought for a mere £600 but has already proved to be a bargain buy in making the frame at Chelmsford and Nottingham (both 6f); today's drop back in trip isn't necessarily a positive move.
Big odds and well beaten on both starts, most significantly over C&D (good to firm) on debut; wide draw; one of three declared runners for Tim Easterby.
13,000gns yearling; 25-1 when finishing sixth of ten to Harry Love in a C&D (good) novice last month; ran green before keeping on inside the final furlong and should fare better with that experience banked; trainer saddles three runners.

Horse silk
33/1
6,500gns yearling; first foal from a 7f dam who was a half-sister to the Canadian 1m Grade 1 winner Trade Storm and the 5f-6f winner Wanchai Lad.

(3)
Horse silk
8/1
€1,000 foal, £16,000 yearling; took a significant step forward on her second start (66-1) when finishing 4L third to Harry Love over C&D (good) last month; one of four declared runners for Nigel Tinkler.
7
(15)
Horse silk
50/1
£1,000 yearling; 11-1 when last of six to stablemate Singe Anglais (a winner since) over C&D (good to firm) in July; trainer saddles four runners; unlikely.
8
(11)
Horse silk
14/1
12,000gns yearling, 15,000gns juvenile; fourth foal from a 5f-6f winning dam (Impressible); closely related to winners Dark Reckoning (5f-6f) and Alshaqee (5f AW); one to note in the market.

80/1
12,000gns yearling; slowly away and in the rear throughout when finishing well down the field (11th of 12) on debut at Thirsk (6f, good to firm) six weeks ago; needs to do better for a trainer who saddles three other runners.
10
(6)
Horse silk
33/1
€4,000 yearling; made only a nominal amount of progress from debut when seventh of ten to Seize The Time over C&D (good to firm) three weeks ago; others rate as more appealing.

Kendred Soul21

4/1
Kendargent filly; pacy and has shown a reasonable level of form in all three starts; went close to breaking the duck when beaten a head in a 6f Carlisle maiden (good to soft) latest; dropped in trip and prominent on the shortlist.

Knightcap8
Age: 2|  Weight: 9-0| J: D Fentiman| T: T D Easterby| OR:  64
9/2
Six-race maiden; has raced over 7f recently and now drops back to the minimum trip after finishing fifth of 15 (beaten just under 2L) by Singe Anglais at Ripon (6f, good to soft) eight days ago; likely to be handy early from the inside berth.
13
(14)
Horse silk
7/1
Kyllachy filly who is a half-sister to a couple of winners; 33-1 when a close up debut fourth to Seize The Time over C&D (good to firm) three weeks ago; wide berth, but further improvement is possible.
15
(10)
Horse silk
100/1
7,000gns yearling; dwelt and went badly left from the stalls when last of ten on debut over C&D (good) a fortnight ago; work to do with a number of these rivals; one of four declared runners for Nigel Tinkler.

Forecasts

Second Love (7/4), Kendred Soul (4/1), Knightcap (9/2), Reviette (7/1), Ruby Wonder (7/1), Bertie's Princess (8/1), Brainchild (14/1), Capla Spirit (22/1), Wade's Magic (22/1), Bella Figlia (33/1), Imperial Eagle (33/1), Tenbobmillionaire (50/1), Blue Lyte (50/1), Hands Down (80/1), Violette Szabo (100/1)

Verdict

A difficult opener. Tim Easterby and Nigel Tinkler are responsible for almost half of those declared with Knightcap and Bertie's Princess arguably their respective leading hopes. Reviette posted a promising debut over C&D three weeks ago and is open to further improvement, although she does have a wide draw in stall 14. Brainchild is worth monitoring in the market on debut for Keith Dalgleish but we'll opt to stick with experience and a pace angle focusing in on the dropped in trip KENDRED SOUL. She was narrowly beaten by a Hugo Palmer-trained odds-on favourite at Carlisle (6f) three weeks ago.
  1. Kendred Soul
  2. Reviette
  3. Knightcap
