Form this term is a far cry from the progress that he showed for this yard last year when he recorded victory on four occasions. Underperformed again last time (despite some morning support); looked an awkward ride, limited appeal for now.
Has gone close a couple of times this season at this distance, including in a big field at Doncaster when second of 17. Was disappointing last week at Carlisle (6f) when sixth of eight. Very capable off this mark.
Two wins and two seconds in last four show him to be a sprinter in fine fettle. All of those efforts on good to firm so conditions here a worry (won once on soft in 2012). If ground dries a little he will go well.
Won his maiden over C&D in 2014 (good), but has not won in 15 other attempts on turf, having scored six times on AW surfaces. Arrives on the back of two hefty defeats. Others preferred.
Thirsk winner last April showed signs of a revival there in June finishing third of 10 over 7f. Last of 14 there latest over same C&D however left lots to be desired although has had a wind-op since so maybe that can help.
Off the mark at Southwell in March in emphatic fashion but 8lb higher mark undid him when last of five on return at Leicester last month. Far too keen there so must settle better although bigger field may aid in that regard.
Under a 6lb penalty today having gotten off the mark over C&D on soft ground seven days ago. Won impressively by 2½L and with conditions likely similar he surely will make a bold bid.
Been rather hit and miss since winning at Lingfield last December but more hits than misses of late and replication of either of his last two efforts would see him struggle here.
Lone turf win came in 2017 (won AW in 2018) but looks a player now 10lb below his last winning mark and his running on fourth of 11 at Kempton latest after a short break was evidence that he may take advantage soon.
Front-runner enjoys testing conditions as he showed again when winning on good to soft at Ripon in June. Close second here on C&D earlier this season off this mark on heavy also compelling and more rain that falls the better.
Left behind four poor efforts including a handicap debut last of 11 latest when sixth of 13 on AW at Wolverhampton. That effort more positive but must improve again to better that finishing position.
20lb lower than Leicester win in 2017 but has regressed badly since then and hard to make a case for in her current form despite this career low mark.
25 race maiden came within a neck of recording a first victory when runner-up in a soft ground 6f handicap at Ayr last month . Belo par since at Catterick and out of the handicap here but not ruled out.
Forecasts
Ugo Gregory (15/8), Ninjago (9/2), Cupid's Arrow (13/2), Cardaw Lily (10/1), I Know How (12/1), Trust Me (14/1), Prestbury Park (16/1), Tan (16/1), Hollander (16/1), Soaring Spirits (22/1), Ocean Temptress (25/1), Awa Bomba (33/1), Lacan (66/1)
Everything seemingly points to last week's C&D winner UGO GREGORY following up under his 6lb penalty with that first win likely to inspire confidence and underfoot conditions also expected to be very similar. The softer the ground the better for Cupid's Arrow so his chance will enhance if the forecast showers are heavy. At the other end of the scale Ninjago is a big danger if the ground dries out a little having been in fine form lately on good to firm.
