Canford Cliffs colt was never involved when a 14L ninth of 10 over 7½f at Lingfield 10 days back. Should come forward with that under his belt but highly surprising if he makes the frame.
Royal runner took a step forward on his promising debut fourth at Chepstow to finish second beaten 2¼L over 7½f at Beverley. No reason he can't take another step forward now so has leading claims here.
Son of Derby winner Authorized should appreciate slight step up in trip here after finishing eighth of nine over 7f at Doncaster in only race back in June. Still best watched.
Gelded French Navy juvenile was slowly away and never a factor in finishing 10th of 12 on debut at Wolverhampton over 7f last month. Combination of that experience and an extra 1f can help but place surely his best hope.
Lone newcomer in the field is stoutly bred as a daughter of Melbourne Cup winner Dunaden and a half-sister to French 1m2f AW winner Perle Et Or (by Harbour Watch). Should appreciate this trip and may be best opposition to Cloud Drift.
Half-sister to 10 winners showed little on debut when last of 11 at Newcastle where she likely did too much too soon over 7f. Should do better now for that experience especially considering yard she hails from.
Forecasts
Cloud Drift (2/5), Merryweather (7/2), Green Book (10/1), Sunshine Fantasy (16/1), Sophar Sogood (100/1), Bad Attitude (100/1), Full Strength (125/1)
This looks an excellent opportunity for Michael Bell's colt CLOUD DRIFT whose two pieces of form are comfortably the strongest two on offer. Newcomer Merryweather is the only logical option to oppose him; market confidence for him would be of interest. Sunshine Fantasy can prove best of the rest.
