Shown some ability in all three starts and ran respectably when tried over this trip at Beverley last time out; the winner and the third placed horse have both won since. Step forward needed but is going the right way for handicaps. One to consider.
Distinct promise in novice company last year but was a beaten favourite on her return back in March; also been poor in two starts since. The handicapper has given her a chance but plenty to prove at present.
Down in trip after finishing last over an extended 1m3f at Yarmouth last month and a big improvement is required on the face value of that run. First try with cut in the ground but can figure if able to better the form of her penultimate start.
0-12 but has been placed three times and acts with some give underfoot. Set to race from her lowest mark yet and did run with promise over C&D latest; up in grade again but still dangerous to underestimate.
Copes with cut in the ground and ran well at this level when previously tried in a hood (at Lingfield, 1m2f, soft) in June. Can go well if running to that level and, with the rider taking 5lb off with her claim, a big run could be in the offering.
0-8 for Mark Johnston before swapping hands for ÂŁ11,000 at the Ascot sales in June. Has shown promise on a number of occasions but stamina has never been tested beyond 7f in public before now. Dropped 2lb since last seen but the betting can guide.
Modest form in a maiden (in November 2016) and two novices stakes was bettered when she made her belated handicap debut at Windsor last month. May be more to come now and interesting that she's being persevered with at her age.
Reasonable effort on her handicap debut last time out but needs to better her previous form on turf; also her first try with cut in the ground. Others offer more at this stage.
Ran above market expectations when second at Yarmouth in June; that was easily her best effort so far and created the impression there is more to come now her stamina is being put to the test. Cut in the ground seems to suit; worth considering.
Forecasts
Sincerity (11/4), Air Force Amy (4/1), Elegant Love (4/1), Just Once (6/1), Arcadienne (6/1), Be Thankful (10/1), Bird To Love (12/1), Peggy Mckay (16/1), French Twist (20/1)
The reapplication of a hood could provide the missing ingredient for BE THANKFUL as she responded well when the headgear was last tried and, with conditions likely to suit and her rider easing the burden at the weights with a 5lb claim, the only four-year-old in the line up makes plenty of appeal. Just Once comes into this on the back of her best effort to date and has to be feared on these terms, as does Sincerity, who still has scope for improvement and, as the form of her latest start has been boosted since, she too merits serious consideration. French Twist never tried this trip when with her former yard but has ability, so is another to monitor closely.
- Be Thankful
- Just Once
- Sincerity
