Experienced mare who ended her long run without a win at Ripon (1m4f) three starts back. Has been unable to follow it up since then. Was third of eight last time at York (1m2½f). Remains off the same but up in trip. One to consider.
Two-time winner last year but has failed to shine in her two starts so far this season. Could only finish seventh of 10 last time at Epsom (1m4f) where she was a long way down the field. Down 2lb but needs to improve.
Got off the mark at Sandown (1m2f) on her third start. Was fancied to score on her handicap debut recently at York (1m2½f) but she finished last of eight when going off as the 6/4 favourite. She is capable of much better than latest run.
Lightly-raced filly whose sole success came on the AW at Lingfield (1m2f). Was third of five last time at Goodwood (1m4f) on her handicap debut. Has been eased 2lb and is still open to improvement. One to watch.
Has finished second twice in his three starts this season, including on his latest outing at Windsor (1m3½f) in a six runner contest. First attempt at this trip which should not be a problem for her. One for your shortlist.
Broke her maiden last time at Lingfield (1m3½f) at the third attempt where she was staying on strongly at the finish. On her handicap debut here where she is open to improvement. Leading player.
Started the season in poor form but last two outings have been promising. She was second of five at Nottingham (1m2f) two starts back, while more recently she was only 2½L away despite being last of six over the same C&D. Others preferred here.
Forecasts
Maktabba (2/1), Nette Rousse (3/1), Fannie By Gaslight (11/2), Queen Constantine (13/2), Appointed (8/1), Kvetuschka (9/1), Overtrumped (16/1)
MAKTABBA shaped like she will improve for stepping up in trip when she broke her maiden last time. She is open to improvement so expect more success here on her handicap debut. Queen Constantine has gone close on a couple of occasions this season and should be challenging at the finish, while Appointed is back up in trip where she is very capable as she proved when successful at Ripon earlier this season.
