Back to near his best when winning here in June over C&D and third at Newcastle and fourth at Newbury since in hot class two's also strong form. Back down in class he has very obvious claims (also declared at Thirsk on Friday).
All of his wins come over 6f but was never nearer than eventual fourth in hot 6f York handicap despite being one of the first off the bridle so could very easily be that 7f now is his best trip. Won off higher marks in the past and highly respected.
Still 2lb higher mark than last win of almost a year ago but in fairness his string of placed efforts over 1m and 7f of late show this mark to remain workable if somewhat restrictive. First-time blinkers tried in attempt to eek out more.
Three-time winner handles a variety of ground and close to his best on his return from a 225-day absence when fifth in this grade at Doncaster in May and fifth to Raydiance over C&D latest beaten just 2L. His turn may soon come.
Six-time winner set some stiff tasks in 2019 but can't ignore the fact he has made the frame just once in eight starts and that in a five-runner contest. Others more compelling.
Took record to three from five when battling to success over 7½f at Lingfield (turf) last time out. Little doubt this a stiffer task but is clearly still progressing and yard's raiders up North always to be respected.
Almost took advantage of falling back to last winning mark when a ¾L second at Ayr last time dropped to class 4 company. This a notch up on the class ladder but certainly capable although perennial slow starts don't help.
Landed a four-timer last season but handicapper caught up since. Placed twice this term but latest seventh of 10 at York further evidence that he remains best watched for signs of a revival.
Still just a Ripon debut win two years to show for her efforts and despite some solid placed efforts along the way last season she is yet to make the frame in 2019 and easily opposed.
Won class 6 and 5 contests over 7f at Leicester and Newcastle before appearing to be at the handicapper's grasp at Newcastle latest when fifth of 11 upped to this level. Career-best needed.

Top 6f handicapper GOLDEN APOLLO looked well worth another go at 7f latest when keeping on for fourth of 15 in a seriously competitive York handicap. Off a mark now 6lb lower than his last win perhaps the extra 1f here can see him revived to that high-class level. Unexposed sort Mutaraffa is clearly on an upward curve and could yet have more to come as he goes up in class for the in-form Charlie Hills team. Also shortlisted is classy Raydiance although the caveat is that he is also declared at Thirsk on Friday.

- Mutaraffa
