His last two starts have come over hurdles, with his latest effort coming at Perth over 3m where he was third of 11. His most recent Flat appearance came at Sligo (1m4½f) when second of of 11. Has to be respected off this latest mark.

Has been in excellent form this year with three wins form his last four starts. His latest success was over hurdles at Stratford (2mf) where he finished 5L ahead of his rivals. Could still be off a winnable mark on the Flat. Leading contender.

Has been running consistently well recently without success. He has finished second on both of his last two starts at this track over 2m1½f. Travelled well until the closing stages last time which suggests he will go close at this trip.

Her last success came on the AW at Newcastle (1m4½f) in a nine-runner field back in November. On a long losing stretch this season but she is now back on her last winning mark on turf so has to be respected.

Scored at Musselburgh (1m6f) back in May but has been unable to follow that up since then. Was fourth of 12 last time at Carlilse (2m1f). Back down in trip here where he is off his last winning mark. One to consider.

His best form this season has come at Perth over hurdles where he was victorious in April in a 15 runner field over 2m. He was fourth of 10 there on his latest start over 2m. Down in trip on return to Flat here but others are preferred.

Remains a maiden after six races. His form has not improved since joining handicap company. He was ninth of 14 last time here over 1m2f. Taking a big step up in trip so he has to prove his stamina which looks a gamble.

Verdict

CLEARANCE has had success on the AW and more recently over hurdles this year. He returns to the Flat here on turf where he looks to have a great chance of further success off this mark. He will have no problem with this distance or conditions if there is any rain. Hugoigo has gone close on his last two starts here and that should be the case again over this slightly shorter distance which will suit, while Black Label is a versatile gelding who is very capable off this latest Flat mark.
