Has improved for wind surgery, seeing things out well when winning the Old Newton Cup at Haydock a month ago. Ran as well as could be expected in a warm Group 3 at York last time, and this is more his level.
Won all three starts in 2018, and only narrowly denied in Listed company at Chantilly on return. Better effort since when just denied by King's Advice at Goodwood (1¾m) last week, and looks well treated if over those exertions.
His latest success came in a Listed race at Chester in September but out of sorts in two runs this campaign. Should bounce back at some point, but remains opposable until showing more.
Below form since winning at Chester in may, and while he appeared to run well when 4¼L fourth of 5 to Desert Encounter in Glorious Stakes at Goodwood last time, he's probably flattered by his proximity in a tactical race.
Has won three of his seven starts and only caught late here on return (1½m, Rowley Mile). Failed to stay in the Queen Alexandra at Ascot last time, and likely to be very competitive back in trip.
Thirsk winner who found the Queen's Vase a little too competitive on his penultimate start, but improved further when 1¼L second of 6 to Sextant on handicap debut at Ascot last time. May do better yet, so merits respect.
