Highly tried since making winning debut at Ayr in May, finishing midfield in the Coventry Stakes at Royal Ascot and 6L last of six in Newbury Listed contest. This is an easier task on paper and should be hard to beat.
Nightmare debut when sent off favourite for 6f York maiden. Dwelt at the start, green throughout and eased down once he was beaten. That was unlikely to be his true running and claims if that run hasn't left a mental scar.
€17,000 yearling. Sire was a Group 2 winner as a juvenile and is out of a 6f winning mare. This looks a tough race to contest on debut and yard hasn't had a two-year-old winner this season.
Holds a Gimcrack Stakes entry. Improved on debut when 2L third in similar 6f contest at Newbury (good to firm) recently. More needed but can't be ignored with significant jockey booking.
Kodiac colt. Ran with great on debut despite slow start and troubled passage to finish narrow third in 6f Doncaster novice. Form of that race looks good and should be thereabouts. Shortlisted.
100,000 gns purchase as a yearling. Muhaarar colt out of a mare who won up to 1m4f. Half-brother to top class sprinter Kachy and market should be informative on debut.
Champagne Stakes entry. Bred to stay further but failed stay when 4L third at Sandown (7f, good) on racecourse debut. Likely to have improved for that and jockey has chosen to ride him over Black Caspian. Shortlisted.
17,000 gns foal, purchased for £30,000 as a yearling. Slade Power colt out of an unraced mare who hasn't produced a winner on the track to date. This is a tall order on debut.

No Show (2/1), Lord Of The Lodge (3/1), Gifted Ruler (4/1), Centurion Song (6/1), Embolden (15/2), Gravity Force (14/1), Black Caspian (20/1), Temper Trap (33/1), Captain Corelli (100/1)
A typically strong-looking Haydock novice contest, Lord Of The Lodge sets the standard on his respectable run at Royal Ascot two starts ago but despite the likelihood of being a warm favourite, he could be vulnerable to some less exposed rivals. Centurion Song is a typical improver for his yard while No Show should appreciate the drop in trip. Gifted Ruler can't be dismissed on debut either given his connections and impressive pedigree. Preference is for EMBOLDEN, who should've won on debut had he not encountered a troubled passage and could be a smart colt for a powerful yard.
