Yet to get off the mark in 10 starts on turf but has been running well in defeat in a number of starts since May and deserves a change of luck. Tough ask off top weight.
Landed his second win on turf at the Curragh in May off a 2lb lower mark. Beaten at Roscommon since but the daughter of Intense Focus looks capable of hitting the frame on stable debut.
Failed to land a four-timer when finishing down the field at the Galway festival on Tuesday. Up in trip here but likely to be able to get his own way.
Solid run on Wednesday at the Galway festival finishing a little over 4L adrift of the impressive Tauran Shaman over the extended mile. Runs off a 3lb lower mark here and one for the shortlist.
19-race maiden still looking for a first win on turf in 10 starts. Not disgraced in two of his last three starts but is always liable to find a couple stronger.
Better performances have come on the AW with the Hat Trick gelding still looking for a first win in five on turf. First time cheekpieces unlikely to bring about the required amount of improvement needed to play a role here.
Solid winner of a Galway two-year-old handicap last term and has gone well in defeat in her last couple of starts. Still 7lb higher than last winning mark and continues to be in the grip of the handicapper.
12-race maiden on turf the daughter of vocalised has not been seen since a couple of starts on the AW at Dundalk in December and January. Unlikely to be troubling the judge on this occasion.
Nothing of note in four below par career runs including a heavy defeat over a similar trip when last seen in May. Hard to fancy on overall evidence.
Ran A Few Bob Short to 2L at Gowran Park at the end of last month in the mares best effort for sometime. Can improve for the step up in trip and a leading player.
Six-race maiden well held in four starts on turf. Struggling in recent efforts and tough to see where improvement is coming from to play a major part in this contest.
Forecasts
Cuban Surfer (9/4), Rips Dream (9/2), Frosty Beach (11/2), Blankiedoodie (7/1), Spanish Dawn (8/1), National Identity (9/1), Earl Of Bunnacurry (12/1), Latchet (14/1), Barbie O'Conor (16/1), Feisty Katerina (16/1), Magojiro (33/1)
The Jim Bolger-trained CUBAN SURFER can build on her two most recent starts at Down Royal and Ballinrobe to land the spoils in a wide-open contest. The daughter of Teofilo can hold off the challenge of the John McConnell-trained Spanish Dawn who has been running with credit in a number of defeats last month and May have to settle for a place again along with Fiesty Katerina and Lachet who can both go well at a price.
- Cuban Surfer
- Spanish Dawn
- Latchet
