Has won her last two races stepping up in trip each time for today's jockey; slight step up again likely to suit; wins have come on good-to-firm so may not want too much rain to fall pre-race.

Veteran who goes well in these events all year round; tends to be campaigned over slightly shorter so trip is a slight unknown but generally runs his race and now looking quite well handicapped.

Smart dual purpose performer made virtually all to gain a 12th career success at Nottingham on his penultimate start over 1m6f. Ran a similar race in defeat next time out (2m1f) at Ayr; live chance.

Busy staying handicapper; has lost his way this season with just the odd glimpse of the best of his old form; stays this trip well and suited by the expected going but current form is main reservation.

Put in one of his better runs of the season last time out at Ayr (1m4f) when staying on strongly in closing stages; this trip is not his optimum but clearly in good heart and will appreciate any softening of the surface.

Generally a consistent mare whose best recent effort came at Hamilton at the end of June (1m5f); not guaranteed to stay this trip but should run her race; effective on most surfaces.

Very much hit and miss performer and not to be replied upon with confidence; penultimate start was a fair effort at Chester but being well beaten at same track last time out; hard to make a case for.

Fairly consistent handicapper who last two runs showed a degree of promise; stays this trip well and is very much one for the shortlist off his current mark.

Unexpectedly won a handicap on his debut in that sphere last time out at Ripon; obviously open to improvement and his form in bumpers suggest this trip will be not problem; interesting contender.

Not the most consistent and ran very poorly last time out Musselburgh. Has chance on the best of his form but others preferred.

Notched first career win at the 40th attempt when making all over 1m7f on turf in May. Well below that in his latest two appearances; market support would be interesting but current form a worry.

Not really going anywhere quickly at the moment and the addition of cheekpieces seems to have made little difference; stays this trip well but outside chance at best..

Perla Blanca (10/3), Stormin Norman (9/2), Royal Flag (5/1), Tawseef (11/2), Tonto's Spirit (7/1), St Andrews (9/1), Calliope (10/1), Tapis Libre (11/1), Elite Icon (12/1), Attention Seaker (14/1), Question Of Faith (25/1), Excalibur (33/1), Miss Ranger (33/1), Rock N'stones (40/1)

Verdict

ST ANDREWS looks to be on a decent mark and has form over this trip while his consistency suggest he will at least be in the firing in the closing stages against some very inconsistent rivals. Stormin Norman demands respect given the way he won last time out and is possibly open to improvement, while Perla Blanca will be of interest stepping up in trip though she will not want the ground to soften too much.
