Hasn't won since winning at Redcar in June 2015; knocked at the door in competitive Doncaster handicaps over the years. Handles soft and some promise on March stable debut before disappointing last time out. Watching brief advised.
Recent dual course and distance winner who put in a career best performance at Ascot (7f) last time out; up in the weights as a consequence but looks the type to be still improving and holds every chance.
Formerly trained in France where he at least won a maiden but has struggled in all his efforts in Britain but tumbling down handicap and blinkers tried today; outside chance.
Won readily over this course and distance last September and has been showing bit and pieces of form this season but was disappointing last time out at Ayr and connections will be hoping for more rain.
Has struggled to get going this year and noticeably slow to stride in last three appearances. On a handy mark at present but current form suggests a little bit of caution.
Very consistent in a variety of conditions; never won of such a high handicap mark but will give it his best and likely to be in the thick of things; excellent place chance.
C&D winner has finished well beaten in six starts so far this year and finds himself off a mark 11lb lower than for his most recent victory as a result. Chance on best form but current form suggests he may struggle.
On long losing streak on turf but put in one of his better performance when only run out of it close home at Beverley last time out. A repeat of that run will see him go close.
A little unlucky in first-time blinkers last time (hit rail) and is a wonderfully consistent type who has run well over course and distance in the past; down 1lb in the handicap; one to consider.
Consistent type who won well at Newcastle last time out. More on his plate today but has won off this mark in the past and is clearly in good heart; definite chance.
Forecasts
Redarna (3/1), Pickett's Charge (4/1), Beverley Bullet (6/1), Oud Metha Bridge (8/1), Royal Shaheen (9/1), Zoravan (9/1), Vive La Difference (10/1), New Look (12/1), Donncha (16/1), Mustaqbal (20/1)
In first-time blinkers, a chance is taken with the ex-French gelding NEW LOOK. A winner of a Longchamp maiden before joining Tim Easterby, the gelding has shown some reasonable efforts and has slipped to a nice mark.Mustaqbal has good course form and may give the selection most to do if the expected rain arrives while Zoravan may be able to put an unlucky run last time out behind and be rewarded for his overall consistency.
- New Look
- Zoravan
