Respected from stable who can improve two-year-old but this gelding has only shown glimpses of ability to date and appears to be going backward based on latest effort. Possibly unfairly handicapped on what he has achieved so far.

Improved to win over five furlongs at this track after two solid efforts over six furlongs at Carlisle. Certainly going in the right direction but may encounter soft ground for the first time, excellent chance nevertheless.

Nice winner of an auction race at Carlisle (6f) before not disgraced on handicap debut at Thirsk (5f) late last month. Certainly one to note though expected ground is an unknown (win came on a good-firm surface).

Built on promising 2L third at this track (5f, good-to-firm) on debut when winning by 1L on good ground over the same C&D on penultimate start. Limitations exposed last time out at Catterick. Needs to improve to play a leading role here.

Has been steady if unspectacular improvement this making her debut in June. First-time blinkers may just be the key to this filly getting off the mark. Respected.

Has hinted at ability in his three runs to date but does not look particularly well handicapped and would need to show much improved form to win this. Long absence a slight concern but stable respected. Check the market.

Another returning after a sizable absence; best effort came at Carlisle two starts ago but was disappointing last time out at Beverley. Entitled to improve but will need to in order to get competitive.

Verdict

First-time blinkers could be key to to PENTAWAN finally getting off the mark in an interesting juvenile handicap. Not beaten far on her latest start at Doncaster over this trip, she ran a little green and is entitled to improve. Aberama Gold is a consistent type who won well on his penultimate start, he still looks reasonably treated by the handicapper and in entitled to improve and be in the shake-up. One Bite is certainly going in the right direction and if running as well as last time at this track over an extra furlong, he holds every chance.
