Struggling for form of late but has course winning form over 1m off this mark so does have possibilities if return to AW reinvigorates.
Ran well when fourth at Brighton early in July but failed to fire since and was a well beaten eighth of nine at recently as Thursday at Epsom.
Two C&D wins in spring off 3lb and 1lb lower marks. Four most recent races less than compelling but back here he could revive and is certainly well treated enough to go close.
Ran well at Nottingham (1m2f) two starts back when second of 11. Was disappointing last time out over 1m3½f and for all this trip probably suits best his 1-25 record is dissuasive.
Still maiden but not been out of the first four in his last five starts and second of 12 at Yarmouth and third of 12 at Lingfield the last twice efforts which command serious respect in such a modest contest.
9L fifth over 1m½f at Nottingham on handicap debut was a career best latest and looked sure to appreciate this longer trip there too. First placed effort realistic today.
C&D winner in November off a 1lb lower mark and arrives in excellent form after back-to-back turf seconds at Yarmouth. Anything other than a bold bid surprising.
Distance winner on turf at Windsor was well held next at Bath finishing sixth of 13 back over 1m. Return to 1m2f could very easily see him in a better light however so merits respect today.
Longstanding 38-race maiden and that didn't look likely to change when 10th of 11 at Newcastle last time out.
2m win here in July 2017 his last win but ran respectably enough when sixth of 11 at Brighton on reappearance. Should come forward but others more appealing overall.
Close to three years since his lone win here back in November 2016 and four unplaced efforts in 2019 (three here) further evidence to rule him out.
C&D winner off this mark in February seems to often save his best form for AW as he showed again latest when an 18/1 second of 10 at Wolverhampton. Course form is rock-solid so has to be considered.
Forecasts
Chakrii (7/2), Tilsworth Lukey (9/2), Red Archangel (6/1), Hidden Dream (8/1), Fountain Of Life (8/1), Foxrush Take Time (8/1), Muraaqeb (10/1), Bader (10/1), Rainbow Jazz (10/1), Woofie (20/1), Out Of The Ashes (25/1), Squire (25/1)
There would be few more deserving winners than RED ARCHANGEL and surely that elusive first win must come very soon; hopefully today. Fellow consistent sorts Chakrii and Hidden Dream both run well here and look the stiffest opposition to the selection.
- Red Archangel
- Chakrii
- Hidden Dream
