Makes her nursery debut having had three starts in minor events (not at her best last time); all three runs over 5f. Displayed some good speed on her first two outings (made a likeable debut); will be of more interest in this sphere.
One of the few who have tasted this sphere already shaping better than the bare result on her debut in it last time over 6f at Nottingham (ridden too aggressively). Now switched back to 5f with a good draw, dangerous if allowed a soft lead.
Due to go up 8lb in the handicap after this start he makes his first start in handicaps having given the impression he'll hold his own in this discipline. Showed some speed last time at Bath over 5f (only caught late on); must be in the mix.
Took a big step forward when taking second in a Catterick claimer last time (relished drop in grade plus sharp track/trip). Winner of that contest has won a nursery since; now makes handicap debut off a handy mark, well drawn; serious chance.
One of two runners in the race for the yard (yet to have a nursery winner) who has already had two handicap attempts; failed on both occasions. Often slow away she's now tried in cheekpieces for the first time in an effort to sharpen her up.
Has shown some ability in all three of his starts so far and appeals as the type to make his mark in this sphere eventual. Carries quite a hefty purchase price compared to his lowly mark; won't be a surprise if he makes an impression; handicap debut.
Unlike his stablemate has yet to run in this sphere having been dropped into a seller and a claimer in his last two starts. Tried over 6f last time at Ripon (looked unsuited by track); now back at 5f a trip that his best form has come over.
Not well drawn for this first foray into handicaps having shown her first form of any type last time out on her third start at Beverley over 5f. Race last time was only a weak one and he faces a stiffer task here against some interesting types.
Shown some slight progress in all his starts so far; eked out a little more improvement last time on AW/handicap debut over 5f. Finished a creditable third but more needed to be able to get involved fully in this.
Forecasts
Flight Of Thunder (7/2), Too Hard To Hold (4/1), Navajo Dawn (4/1), Lara Silvia (11/2), Two Hearts (7/1), Invincible Bertie (8/1), Chocoholic (14/1), Queens Blade (16/1), Comeatchoo (33/1)
This could be run at a fierce gallop with several juvenile speedballs in the race one of those Navajo Dawn was ridden from the front last time but that was over 6f and this sharper test could well suit her better. Too Hard To Hold is another speedy type who also looks well handicapped and he comes from the only yard in the (Mark Johnston) to have won a nursery this year. Given his sales price Invincible Bertie could turn out to be better than his mark and comes from a yard adept in this discipline while Lara Silvia isn’t out of this. FLIGHT OF THUNDER looks the type to relish this sharp test though after stepping up on her previous form last time in a race that sets up well for her.
- Flight Of Thunder
- Too Hard To Hold
- Invincible Bertie
