Group 1 winner in Japan and runner-up in last season's Hong Kong Cup. Limitations seemingly exposed in tougher races subsequently though and well beaten on UK debut at Royal Ascot last time out in the Prince Of Wales's Stakes.

German 1,000 Guineas winner (Group 2) last year but hasn't managed to get her head in front in lesser races than this so far in 2019 and she looks up against it.

Won twice as a juvenile and improving with every start so far this year, only narrowly denied by Lah Ti Dar before another close defeat in the Duke Of Cambridge Stakes last time; could well have more to offer for a yard enjoying an excellent season.

Arrives here bidding for a hat-trick after a Listed success at Nottingham and a Group 3 win at Newcastle but only narrowly got the better of reopposing Nyaleti that day; this is a much tougher heat.

Stayed on gamely to win the Prix De Diane last time out at Chantilly, making it three wins from four starts. Bunched finish that day and while that was a Group 1 success, this looks like a much tougher assignment. Won't mind any rain.

13/8
Dual 1,000 Guineas winner either side of the Irish Sea and gave the impression she would benefit from a step up in trip when second in the Coronation Stakes. Yard's fillies often progress through the season and she ought to get back on track here.

20/1
Group 2 winner as a juvenile and while well beaten behind Hermosa in both Guineas efforts, it was a step back in the right direction in a fillies Group 1 at Belmont last time out. Wants fast ground on that evidence though and yard's second string.

Improving this year, winning a maiden at Newmarket before gaining a wide margin win in the Pretty Polly Stakes back at that venue in May. Better than what she showed in the Oaks last time out and drop back in trip should suit.

Mehdaayih32
Age: 3|  Weight: 8-13| J: L Dettori| T: J & T Gosden| OR:  108| BF| D
3/1
Very impressive when bolting up in the Cheshire Oaks and had excuses in the Oaks next time when suffering a very rough trip. Got back on track with a Group 2 success at Saint-Cloud and could well have more to give; drops in trip.

Forecasts

Hermosa (13/8), Mehdaayih (3/1), Rawdaa (6/1), Maqsad (15/2), Channel (11/1), Sun Maiden (14/1), Deirdre (20/1), Just Wonderful (20/1), Nyaleti (50/1)

Verdict

HERMOSA has been shaping like she will relish a step up to this sort of trip and the dual Group 1 winner could be hard to beat if she finds improvement for the greater test of stamina. Mehdaayih should be forgiven her effort in the Oaks where she suffered interference multiple times in the home straight. Maqsad is another who can be forgiven her effort at Epsom when she probably didn't stay. Rawdaa has been unlucky not to add to her tally so far this season and is another that can go well.
  1. Hermosa
  2. Mehdaayih
  3. Maqsad
