A frustrating character to follow as evidenced by a handful of near misses last season. Wasn't beaten far over C&D in his latest outing but still unable to exploit his current lenient mark.
Winning hurdles form in Ireland was from a 9lb lower mark and he seems to have lost his way a touch. Possible the recent switch in stables will revive his interest but also likely that he's best just watched on this occasion.
Won over hurdles at Musselburgh in March but well beaten in two chase starts since; back on the same winning mark and goes well for this afternoon's pilot. Well worth a betting check now back over timber.
Ran well in a similar race at Aintree last month but didn't build on the effort last time out; his lack of consistency is off-putting despite him being on a decent looking mark at present.
Made steady progress in a light career in Ireland; joined a yard that is very capable of freshening him up and the gelding could be a player now he steps into a handicap for the first time. (The form of his latest start has been franked since.)
Showed a willingness to battle when scoring at Cartmel earlier in the month and has to be respected under his penalty; not always been the most consistent individual though.
Open to more improvement and already been given a chance by the handicapper after being dropped 3lb since his last run; he broke a blood vessel on his penultimate start so reasonable to have a little doubt; but won't be risked unless up to scratch.
Won a modest handicap - under the same rider - here in May but held outside of this level twice since; the last time was over fences though. Needs to bounce back to form here.
Goes well here and closely matched with River Icon when they met here in May and needs to improve upon that effort. Wasn't disgraced last time but more now needed.
Acts with give in the ground but versatile enough to still bear in mind if the predicted rain misses the racecourse. Won well on soft at Ayr back in February and also won on the Flat the following month. Not seen since but a player if raring to go.
Out of action since last August but is well handicapped from 11lb below his last winning mark over hurdles; never yet won for his current trainer and very likely he'll be a lot sharper with this seasonal debut under his belt.
Still a maiden but showed ability in his time in Ireland. Current yard has done well with cast-offs from others, so possible this fellow is one who can pay his way. An interesting one to monitor in the betting with first-time headgear application.
Modest on the Flat (0-8 on turf and the AW) and not much shown in three starts over hurdles so far. Not hard to overlook on her handicap debut.
