Gained four wins for Richard Hannon, two of them at Listed level. Returned from an absence of over a year with a Listed third on debut for new yard. Rates a big player for leading stable who won this in 2016.

Two of his 12 career wins have come at Listed level and enjoyed two AW wins earlier this year. A mile does stretch his stamina at this level and therefore the stiff finish is a concern. Second in Listed company last start so can't be dismissed.

Posted a career best when winning a fillies' Listed contest over this C&D last time. This would likely require a bit more but she stays further and would be suited if it was run at a strong pace. Stable won this in 2017.

All four wins have come at shorter including with a very good win in Ascot's Listed October Stakes at the end of last season. Fifth in the Group 2 Duke Of Cambridge and third in a French Listed event the last twice. Chance if handling the track.

Won twice last October and matched that level when beaten a nose in a Newbury handicap last time. Well beaten in a French Listed event two starts back and likely to find life at this level tough again. Stable also runs I Could Do Better.

Group 3 winner as a juvenile who has been kept busy this season. Ran well enough when denied a clear run in 7f Chester Listed race and then Haydock conditions winner over the same trip. Concern he hasn't seen out this trip strongly twice previously.

Forecasts

Khafoo Shememi (6/4), Marie's Diamond (3/1), Di Fede (4/1), Exhort (11/2), Lush Life (10/1), Oh This Is Us (12/1), I Could Do Better (12/1), Pure Shores (33/1)

Verdict

After defeating the classy King Of Comedy on debut, I COULD DO BETTER has comfortably maintained his unbeaten record and could be well up this level on his first run for his new stable. Khafoo Shememi hit the ground running after his lengthy absence and is a big danger as a proven performer at this level. If the race turns into a test Exhort could be up to a place on the uphill finish. That wouldn't suit Oh This Is Us although he has obvious quality at this level. Di Fede is another to consider in her good form but again the concern is the tough finish on a left-handed track.
