Needs to put two very poor runs behind him but was in good form last year winning at Brighton, Sandown and Nottingham. Back down to a winning mark. Interesting contender.
Infrequent winner on turf; better after seasonal reappearance run when staying on well to finish third over course and distance latest; slipping down the weights and could be a contender.
Front runner; not won since 2016 but has been in reasonable form this term and should run his race but likely to find a couple too good in the finish off his current mark.
Failed to land a quickfire hat-trick at Leicester last time out after fairly impressive wins at Chepstow and over this course and distance. Looks like the handicapper has his mark at present but not without a chance.
Showed very little in a bumper and three starts on AW before running his best effort last time out at Newbury. in June. Hard to assess at present but would be interesting if mark speaks in his favour.
The fact she refused to race last time out hardly oozes confidence from a betting point of view. Had previously ran a fair race at Leicester (1m2f) on fast ground but others preferred here.
Not the most straightforward hold.up gelding; stayed on well over similar distance last time out at Ripon and would certainly have a chance if things fall his way but that needs to factored into his price as a betting proposition.
Handicap debut; has shown little in three runs (all at Redcar) and while he may improve for this step up in trip, it takes a leap of faith to see him getting competitive.
Only raced two times on turf and neither of those efforts suggested this 19 race maiden is any better on this surface as opposed to the AW. Place chance at best.
First-time blinkers applied; no real racecourse form to date including when finishing last on his handicap debut last time out at Bath. Difficult to make a coherent case for him being involved in the finish.
Forecasts
Kingfast (9/4), Myklachi (3/1), Agent Gibbs (6/1), Lyrica's Lion (13/2), Ban Shoof (7/1), Lawyersgunsn'money (12/1), Celtic Classic (14/1), Principia (20/1), Passing Clouds (28/1), Gordalan (33/1)
Not too many likely winners in the line up and it may be well to concentrate on the horse near the top of the weights with a tentative preference going to LYRICA'S LION who has two pipe openers this season and is now back on a useful mark. Main danger could be Ban Shoof who put in one of his better performances over course and distance last time out. He is an infrequent winner, however. Any market moves for Lawyersgunsn'money would be interesting and he should be able to build on a pleasing run at Newbury last time out.
- Lyrica's Lion
- Ban Shoof
- Lawyersgunsn'money
