Very well bred son of Night Of Thunder who cost 200,000 gns as yearling and 260,000 gns as a juvenile. Leading stable in typical powerful form with their juveniles and a highly likely type on debut.
First foal. Dam 1m2f-1m4f winner (inc AW), is granddaughter of Group-placed 7f winning daughter of 1m4f Listed winner Odeon. 66/1 and very well beaten on last month's debut and hard to fancy.

Son of Intello cost €32,000 as a yearling; a 10th foal who is closely related to AW winner Believe It and a half brother to five winners. Stable yet to have a juvenile winner this season and not noted for debut winners.

Son of Distorted Humor and a half brother to five winners. Leading stable are 5-17 with their juveniles on turf this campaign and a likely type on debut. Market support would be interesting.

Morpheus gelding who is a half-brother to useful sprint handicapper Savalas. Sent off 100/1 and always behind on this month's debut and easy to overlook again.

Epaulette colt, cost €35,000 as a yearling. Half-brother to four winning sprinters and dam a half-sister to 5f Group 3 winner. Never involved in a Chester maiden in May. Yard's runners tend to improve for the run but plenty more required.

Eye-catchingly bred Lope De Vega colt cost €600,000 as a yearling; a 10th foal and a brother to Group 1 Dewhurst and Lockinge winner Belardo; half brother to four winners including Scandivanian Group 3 winner Berling. Fascinating debutante.

Cost $52,000 as a yearling and 50,000 gns as a juvenile; a half brother to US winners Generous Pour and Bermuda. Short of room and unlucky when a close third over this trip at Haydock last month. That sets a clear and strong standard.

Forecasts

Valdermoro (5/4), Global Storm (11/8), Maqtal (6/1), Sky Vega (8/1), Shevchenko Park (14/1), Cipango (14/1), Into Faith (33/1), Grand Pianola (80/1), Ontheradar (100/1)

Verdict

The debut of VALDERMORO was highly promising after being denied a clear run at a crucial stage and for a stable who is very adept at improving their juveniles, he could be hard to beat. Three debutantes stand out as dangers. Godolphin's Global Storm is likely to be rightly popular while despite his stable not being up to their usual standard of juvenile winners, Sky Vega certainly impresses on paper. Any support for Maqtal should also be noted for a leading stable placing their two-year-olds well.
  1. Valdermoro
  2. Global Storm
