Winner of three of his 19 starts over hurdles and hit the frame over 2m6f here in April finishing second of 12 going down by a neck behind Maeve's Choice. Interesting challenger back over this trip.
Has been victorious in two of his last six starts mixing hurdles and chases. Landed a Sligo contest 11 months ago over a similar trip off a 6lb lower mark. Capable of a bold bid switching back over timber.
Two from 12 over hurdles but the Oscar gelding has not visited the winners enclosure for the best part of two years. Failing to finish three of his last four starts leaves him plenty to prove in this contest.
Not disgraced in three starts since winning her hurdle at Leopardstown in March. Capable of a big effort in this contest but others look a little more convincing.
Winner of two of his six starts for trainer Oliver Sherwood but has failed to inspire in a hurdle and chase start for new connections in the last month. Not the most reliable of sorts and others hold stronger claims.
Off the mark at the third time of asking when landing a Tramore maiden hurdle at the end of May. Beaten in novice and handicap company since and needs a couple to falter here.
Dual hurdle winner has looked out of sorts in three dismal efforts since May. Handicap mark continues to fall but hard to be confident in the Kalanisi gelding at present.
Has failed to win again since landing her maiden hurdle at Thurles two and half years ago. Recent efforts, over the larger obstacles, suggest improvement and the daughter of Stowaway is approached with a great deal of respect.
Daughter of Trans Island has been running with great credit in a couple of handicap hurdle starts since the turn of the year finishing runner-up on four occasions. Rates a leading contender in this heat.
Not in the greatest of form for trainers Venetia Williams and Willie Mullins. Has improved since move to new connections in November and looks thoroughly out of sorts currently. Well below-par form looks set to continue.
Winner of two of his 30 starts over timber and appears to be keeping his form in a number of solid and consistent runs over the larger obstacles in the last month. Last hurdle win came in this contest three years ago off a 12lb higher mark.
Landed his third win over hurdles at Listowel last September but has been looking below-par off his revised mark in a number of starts since. Not getting any younger and improvement looks unlikely.
Most recent of his three wins over hurdles came in a Punchestown 2m handicap over four years ago. Can give a good account of himself without posing a threat to the main contenders.
Four-race maiden hurdler well beaten and no impression finishing over 29L adrift of the winner on each occasion. Appears to have a bit to prove in a race of this nature.
Forecasts
Kilbarry Lilly (4/1), Bridge Native (9/2), Trans Wood (11/2), Little Haarth (7/1), Dona Katharina (7/1), Bog War (8/1), Dorans River (10/1), Oh'herewego (14/1), Graineyhill (16/1), Ballyegan Hero (20/1), Castlehume (25/1), Jurby (28/1), Court Martialed (33/1), Force Of Forces (50/1)
The Gordon Doyle mare TRANS WOOD can put a run of seconds behind her here to get back to winning ways in this competitive handicap. The seven-year-old has been running well in defeat in a couple of starts over the last five weeks and can hold of potential challengers in the shape of Little Haarth, winner of this contest three years ago off a 12lb higher mark and the Stowaway mare Bridge Native, second of 16 at Roscommon over the larger obstacles last month. Top weight Dorans River can go well at a price.
- Trans Wood
- Little Haarth
- Bridge Native
