Son of Speightstown fetched $47,000 as a yearling; a first foal to a 7f winner. Stable in decent form and capable of readying a newcomer so worth a note in the betting on debut.
Oasis Dream colt has raced to a similar standard in two fifth place finishes so far. Plenty of improvement required although perhaps a first encounter of quick ground may help.
A lot to like about her debut fourth over 6f at Pontefract last month when green and pulling too hard, she was short of room and forced to switch late on. Maybe the drop in trip will help her settle and the form sets the standard.
Daughter of Captain Gerrard overcame a slow start to make late headway when a 7L second at Chester this month. More needed in this company but improvement likely and one to consider.
Hasn't been beaten far in all three starts in similar conditions so far. Has shown pace in both her last two starts and looks uncomplicated. That form is close to the best on offer and should be involved again.
Daughter of Dragon Pulse was a cheap purchase as a yearling at just €2,000; a fourth foal and a half sister to two winners. Irish raider for a stable not noted for juvenile winners. Best watched on debut.
Finished last on Nottingham debut but showed improvement when an albeit well held fifth at Newmarket last month. Needs to settle better and the drop back in trip is a positive. More improvement needed.
Forecasts
Mecca's Hot Steps (13/8), Cloudea (7/2), Augustus Caesar (4/1), Interrupted Dream (6/1), Enjoy The Moment (7/1), With Virtue (12/1), Petite Steps (25/1)
Mecca's Hot Steps has raced well in all three starts so far and a race of this nature should be well within her abilities. Narrow preference is for CLOUDEA who was a bit unlucky in a decent contest on debut and looked sure to improve for the run. Augustus Caesar is one to keep a close eye on in the market on debut.
