Won on debut in a Cork 5f maiden in May before finding everything happening too quickly in the Group 2 Norfolk Stakes at Royal Ascot finishing 11th of 14. One of two in the race for yard who are four from six in this race since 2013.
War Front colt who is two from two landing a weak Naas maiden when last seen in May. Likely to be popular in the market but may find stablemate biggest danger.
Last of 14 at Royal Ascot on her final start for French trainer Matthieu Palussiere. New trainer saddled Grafelli to win this contest in 2012 and had Theobald finish second two years ago. Needs first-time cheekpieces to work their magic.
Surprise 25/1 winner on debut, his sole start to date over C&D in a maiden last month. Sire produced Wilshire Boulevard to win this contest in 2013. Needs a couple to falter.
Off the mark for connections at the second attempt in a Listowel maiden over a similar trip last month beating Erlking. Form of the race looks a little flimsy but the yard remain in top form with their juveniles.
Leggy, Starspangledbanner filly ran well in defeat in the Group 3 Albany Stakes at Royal Ascot last month. The youngster finished fourth of 18 in her group in the contest and shouldn't be easily dismissed here.
230,000 guineas as a yearling. Closely related to 6f-7f winner Surfrider. Second of seven in a promising debut run at Leopardstown earlier this month beaten a head behind Love. Yard looking to move in to double figures with their juveniles this term
Forecasts
Pistoletto (9/4), Lil Grey (4/1), Mount Fuji (4/1), Soul Search (5/1), Roman Turbo (6/1), Real Appeal (11/1), Between Hills (14/1)
Trainer Aidan O'Brien has won this contest with the likes of Wilshire Boulevard, Dick Whittington, Peace Envoy and Actress in the last six seasons and looks set to strike again with his War Front colt, PISTOLETTO the mount of Ryan Moore. Dark Angel colt and stablemate Mount Fuji may well emerge as the biggest danger under jockey Donnacha O'Brien and is by no means a second string in this contest. Real Appeal makes his debut for trainer Jim Bolger, who has a solid record in this race and Roman Turbo, winner here on his sole start last month, both deserve plenty of respect.
- Pistoletto
- Mount Fuji
- Real Appeal
