In good form at the turn of the year with wins at Catterick and Wetherby. Shaped as though coming to hand after spring break when second at Hexham last time and now only 3lb higher than his last win.
Fair effort here last time over 2m5f on first start back from point-to-points when caught halfway up the run-in and an honourable second. Close fifth in this race 12 months ago off 4lb lower mark and tends to run well here.
Won 3m h'cap chase at Musselburgh in February off 4lb higher mark and weakened here before two out over 2m5f last time on first start following seven-week break. Will probably strip fitter but on balance others make more appeal.
First-time visor added having run poorly over C&D last time out. Posted creditable effort when third at Kelso previous outing over 3m4f and not impossible she could spark to life in the headgear.
Last form was shown two summers ago when trained by Dr Richard Newland and has run poorly all starts this term. Has crashed down the handicap but remains a maiden over fences after nine attempts so far.
Won this race 12 months ago off 3lb lower mark and stayed on over inadequate trip last time when fourth at Hexham. Looks to have been trained with a repeat bid in mind and is one for the shortlist.
Last win under Rules was way back in 2014. Ran fair race when fourth on first start for current yard at Warwick in April but weakened quickly and pulled up 3 out at Ffos Las last time. May have choked and first time tongue-tie now applied.
Irish raider who is 1-27 over hurdles and 0-3 over fences. Fair fourth over fences in 3m event at Ayr in January and looked likely to get involved over C&D last time only to run out of steam before home turn. 1lb lower now.
Placed on each of his last three visits here and went mighty close last time when failing by just a head over C&D last month. 3lb higher now but looks a contender on that effort.
Thorough stayer who has been on the cold list since January 2017. Ran second good race in three starts when half-length third over C&D last time (Shaiyzar second) and despite 3lb rise so again be very much on the premises.
Last four wins have all come over 3m at Hexham and this track may prove plenty sharp enough for him. 4lb higher than last success and on balance others make a little more appeal.
Landed back-to-back wins over C&D in 2015, but nothing since. Hasn't shown enough in recent starts to suggest he might be a player although yard back in form with 2-8 recently.

Damiens Dilemma (4/1), Nortonthorpelegend (5/1), Pretty Miss Mahler (7/1), Mash Potato (7/1), Alto Des Mottes (7/1), A Tail Of Intrigue (7/1), Shaiyzar (8/1), Dun Faw Good (9/1), Pena Dorada (14/1), Trafalgar Rock (14/1), Apache Pilot (14/1), Samtu (33/1), Brother Scott (66/1)
Last year's winner DUN FAW GOOD should make a bold bid to repeat the feat off just a 3lb higher mark and ran with credit last time. Shaiyzar and Alto Des Mottes finished very close together when placed here recently and can again give supporters a good run for thier money, while Irish challenger Mash Potato is not out of it if ridden to get the trip this time. Nortonthorpe Legend has fair claims, as too does Damiens Dilemma who was only just caught here last time.
