Anjaal colt that cost as a €18,000 yearling. Ready winner on debut at Chelmsford last month, has different conditions to deal with here and penalty to carry makes it harder, but clearly smart and demands respect.

Havana Gold colt who was a 30,000gns yearling. Has run respectably both starts but didn't progress from first run to second, and might be one for nurseries after today. Others preferred.

Cost just €2,000 as a yearling and bred to appreciate more of a trip, but showed some ability on debut here at the turn of the month (despite hanging) and might do better again. Place chances at a likely big price.

£13,000 foal, likely to want further in time and yard not known for first time out 2yo winners. Best watched unless market suggests otherwise.

£22,000 colt by Dandy Man out of dam who won in Listed company over a mile as a juvenile. Not shown a lot in two starts to date and needs a big step up if he's to take a hand here.

Dam a 1m/1m1f winner, and a half-sister to Group-placed 7f winner Singing Bird, so bred to have some speed about him and trainer can ready them first time up. Yard 11% with their 2yos here too. One to monitor in the market.

Ivawood colt that has run well both starts, showing plenty of promise on Newbury debut and then improving on that to fill third over C&D last time out. Repeat of that puts him bang in the firing line, and he must go close.

14/1
Poet's Voice filly that was as green as grass on debut at Nottingham but the penny was dropping late, and she ran on pleasingly enough for fifth. Expect plenty of improvement here and getting weight, could squeeze into the places.

Forecasts

Above (8/11), Swinley Forest (3/1), Broken Rifle (5/1), Sir Boris (14/1), Poetic Lilly (14/1), New Jack Swing (16/1), Najm (20/1), Don't Stop Dancing (40/1)

Verdict

Above was a clear-cut winner on debut and looks the one to beat, but SWINLEY FOREST has made a decent impression on both starts and has experience of this tricky track, which counts for plenty. He can come out on top. Poetic Lilly looks a potential big improver and can fight out the minor honours with newcomer Sir Boris and Don't Stop Dancing.
