Won Chelmsford handicap and Catterick claimer in late-spring, and has gone close in similar company last two outings off this mark for Ian Williams. Makes debut for new yard and should be thereabouts under talented apprentice.
Won this race 12 months ago off 5lb higher mark. Ended spell in doldrums with game success at Chester last time off 3lb lower mark and comes here back in form. Obvious chance in current mood.
Two of his three wins came last year over C&D. Won at Chepstow on reappearance off 5lb lower mark and probably failed to stay two miles last time at Chester. Needs to bounce back but does like it here.
Only win to date came here in December over extended 9f. Returns following more than five-month break and wind surgery so hard to assess how he'll go at this trip. Market may provide best guide.
Both AW wins have come on Fibresand at Southwell and has run poorly on Flat and over jumps in recent months. Makes debut for new stable who have yet to train a winner on Flat. Faces a tough task.
Won twice from three runs last year for Mark Johnston scoring in mile novice events at Leicester and Kempton. Very interesting on handicap bow stepping up in trip with top jockey booked. Yard in decent form so deserves serious consideration.
No show in three starts at up 7f last term but was fair second on handicap bow over 1m2f last August. Not seen since so has questions to answer, but could improve again over extra two furlongs. Yard returning to form.
Fair form as a juvenile last term winning on fourth start over extended 1m1f here in January. Struggled in two handicaps since returning from gelding operation. Longer trip and return here may help but has plenty to prove on recent evidence.
Won mile maiden at Lingfield on debut last September then faced tough task at Longchamp when not disgraced. Shade disappointing two starts after that. Run poorly in two runs this term in handicaps on heavy ground but may bounce back on AW again.

Distant Chimes (7/4), Desert Friend (7/2), Robert L'Echelle (11/2), Charlie D (6/1), Super Kid (9/1), Ticklish (12/1), Inn The Bull (12/1), Grand Inquisitor (40/1), Kaser (40/1), Throckley (100/1)
This is a good handicap contest with a number holding fair claims. DESERT FRIEND is asked to take on older horse on his handicap bow over a new trip and that could be a tip in itself. He has hinted he may have a fair amount of ability and gets the nod. Last year's winner Super Kid comes here on the back of a game success at Chester and is a proper danger, wheil the likes of Distant Chimes, Inn The Bull and top weight Grand Inquisitor may also have a say in an interesting event.
