Fifth in Pertemps Final at Cheltenham when last over hurdles and not disgraced since in English and Irish Nationals. Over three years since he won over hurdles but not ruled out from an each-way perspective.
Nine-time winner including Grade Two novice hurdle and three Grade Three chases but never really fired in 2018/19 season and now has a few question marks over him.
Lightly raced sort win twice last season and has been placed in last two starts coming into this. Hard to believe he can't make a bold bid off this lower mark than last twice and has to be respected.
3m Cork maiden winner three starts back and again successful in a Bellewstown handicap over that trip latest. Rises 12lb for that score so much tougher now but clearly progressing nicely.
Fourth of 14 at Punchestown off a 1lb higher mark last time over hurdles was quite respectable. Well beaten on the level since but back over timber today she has realistic place claims.
Downpatrick maiden winner on stable debut was twice beaten as favourite last season with rather non-descript efforts twice, Had a break since and given connections could be worth chancing now.
Won three times over 2m4f between May 18 and 19 and probably didn't quite last 3m at Downpatrick latest. Back in trip here she should have a fair shout although hard to say she's well handicapped.
Upped 8lb for comprehensive Bellewstown win over 2m4f latest. Looked like he would stay this extra trip there so that no concern and indeed overall his profile has plenty of positives.
Three-time chase winner ran a very respectable race over fences latest when fourth of 30 in the 3m5f Irish National. May be a warm up for the Galway festival and a return to fences here.
One win in 21 so far hardly typical of one from the perennial champion trainer's yard. Recent efforts on both the Flat and over hurdles recommend better options elsewhere.
Three-time winner lost his way for Ellmarie Holden but ran excellently on debut for this yard latest when second at Down Royal only beaten a nose over 3m. Upped 2lb but that does little to dampen enthusiasm for this leading contender.
Rather hit and miss performer and more misses than hits since she won at Galway last November, Capable but risky proposition.
Won by 8L over 3m at Roscommon latest and although an 8lb rise is in effect 10lb given she's 2lb out of the handicap she can't be ruled out on the back of such an effort.
Forecasts
Static Jack (4/1), Goodnightngodbless (4/1), Snugsborough Benny (7/1), Roi De Dubai (8/1), Eclat Des Mottes (10/1), Macgiloney (10/1), Daybreak Boy (10/1), Aasleagh Dawn (11/1), Humm Baby (14/1), A Toi Phil (14/1), Hey Little Boy (16/1), Awayinthewest (20/1), Ball D'Arc (33/1)
Although disappointing in his two most recent efforts a chance is taken on handicap debutant ECLAT DES MOTTES for the all-conquering Ricci-Mullins combination; he showed he has ability on debut and surely can recapture that form soon enough. Static Jack ran really well on debut for Gavin Cromwell and has leading claims now to go one better. Roi De Dubai won well latest and should make a bold bid to follow up.
- Eclat Des Mottes
- Static Jack
- Roi De Dubai
