Found life tough in Norfolk Stakes at Royal Ascot on penultimate start before coming up against a potentially good horse when third in 5f Lingfield novice. This looks a weaker contest and likely to go well.
Son of smart 6f performer Intrinsic out of a dam who didn't win during her racing career. Could be more of a long-term prospect but worth a betting check on debut.

Zebedee colt who cost £20,000 as a yearling. Weakened tamely on debut at this track over 6f but pedigree suggests he may find this trip too sharp. Best watched.

Starspangledbanner colt who cost 34,000 gns as a foal. Half-brother to two horses who have been placed over 1m in France and that suggests he'll do better over further. Others preferred.

Bated Breath filly and is a half-sister to three winners, but well beaten seventh over C&D on racecourse debut. Yard doesn't tend to have juvenile winners and makes little appeal in this contest.

Sepoy filly whose chance was costed by a sluggish start on debut in 6f Lingfield novice in June. Likely to appreciate the drop in trip and has solid claims if she breaks well.

Never a factor when seventh of 11 on debut at Salisbury (5f, good to firm) in May. Likely to find this trip too sharp again and others make more appeal.

Didn't show the desired improvement from debut run when 9l sixth over C&D at the start of the month. Improvement needed but this looks an easier contest and has place claims.

Filly from the first crop of Night Of Thunder out of a mare who won over 7f in Ireland. Yard don't tend to have newcomer winners and haven't been in great form lately. Opposable.

Forecasts

Cool Sphere (1/1), Caspian Queen (9/4), Magical Force (10/1), Instantly (10/1), Mjolnir (10/1), Queen Aya (20/1), Sand Diego (20/1), Stormy Girl (25/1), Blue Venture (33/1), Quarrystreetmagic (33/1)

Verdict

A weak-looking novice contest which looks to be a good opportunity for COOL SPHERE to get off the mark at the fourth attempt. He wasn't beaten far in a hot-looking Group 2 at Royal Ascot and is eased once again in class off the back of his recent third-place finish. Caspian Queen took the eye with her Lingfield run and is likely shape better for this contest than on debut while Instantly is of interest for a yard who tend to do well with juvenile newcomers.
