Has shown plenty in promise in three qualifying runs over 1m2f/1m4f and should be winning races before long. Handicapper hasn't exactly thrown him in, however.
Maiden winner last backend at Limerick (6½f, yielding to soft), has twice placed in handicaps over 1m1½/1m2½f in as many runs this term and should be bang there again upped in trip.
Filly is already an AW winner over this trip and two recent turf efforts at Leopardstown and Roscommon suggest she can have her day on turf before long. Remains on a decent mark.
Mukhadram colt has shown plenty ability in three maiden starts at up to 1m2½f and should be able to get in the firing line on this handicap debut.
Not disgraced on handicap bow at Tipperary (1m1f, good to firm; 16-1) and could have more to offer if taking to this longer journey.
Has won twice this year, with her latest success coming at Cork over 1m2f. She ran modestly well last time out at Gowran Park (1m1½f) when fourth of 12. Will be a strong contender if seeing this distance out.
Daughter of Footstepsinthesand, well held on recent handicap bow at Naas (1m2f, good) and has plenty improvement to find seemingly.
Australia colt is not one of Ballydoyle's bright lights, 0-8 in turf so far, though did run close third on the AW at Dundalk over this trip behind Laura Bullion in April. Must do better.
Dawn Approach filly, well held in her three starts in handicaps thus far, including a run over C&D. Really needs the first-time blinkers to perk her up.
Forecasts
Laura Bullion (5/2), Winiata (4/1), Lyrical Attraction (5/1), Bear Claws (11/2), Whitsunday Islands (7/1), Casa Romano (8/1), No Say Ever (12/1), Paistiul (16/1), Sandstorm Annie (33/1)
Johnny Murtagh won this contest last year and looks to have a leading contender again in WINIATA. He has twice run well in handicaps lately and the manner in which he's finishing his races out strongly suggests the increased distance here will be favourable. Laura Bullion shouldn't have to wait long to get her head in front while handicap debutant Bear Claws and the consistent Lyrical Attraction are both worth considering.
- Winiata
- Laura Bullion
- Bear Claws
