Nottingham winner on debut followed that effort up with a hat-trick of seconds. Latest effort perhaps a shade disappointing considering his 8/15 odds but nevertheless his form sets a high standard even with the 6lb penalty.

Mukhadram newcomer; second foal; half-brother to 5.8f 2yo winner Triple Distilled. Yard know the time of day with two-year-olds so market will be a good guide.
26,000gns F; eighth foal; half-brother to winners Jubilee Games (5f/6f 2yo), Fair Selene (1m inc AW), Bellick (5.7f turf/6f AW) and Mountain Man (German 6f/7f). Represents top yard prolific with two-year-olds so highly respected.

Third foal of a dam who won multiple times at sprint trips though his two relations have shown little to date and best watched unless market indicates otherwise.

Shaped nicely on his 5f Hamilton debut only finishing third but not disgraced at all giving best to two with more experience (beaten under 3L). Fourth at Thirsk next form of a similar level and likely make the frame barring newcomers proving smart.

€39,000 son of Dawn Approach was well held on debut over this trip at Haydock last month and is best watched on the back of that effort.

28,000gns F, 30,000gns Y; 7th foal; half-brother to winners Staxton (6f inc at 2/AW), Lazarus Bell (7f 2yo) and Classic Pursuit (5f-6f inc at 2/AW); dam 1m4f winner. Represents prolific yard well capable with two-year-olds so market a help.
Minor promise on debut but finished stone last next time out and is best watched until hitting nurseries.

Forecasts

Oh Purple Reign (4/5), Abstemious (7/2), No Mercy (6/1), Hello Baileys (15/2), Staxton Hill (10/1), Phoenix Approach (20/1), Mews House (25/1), Wots The Wifi Code (40/1)

Verdict

Although debutants from respected yards always cloud the waters a little it will take a pretty smart one to beat OH PURPLE REIGN and even with a 6lb penalty he is expected to gain a second win. Although No Mercy has good enough form to make the frame the newcomers Abstemious, Hello Baileys and Staxton Hill probably offer more viable alternatives to the selection and a market move for any of them would be notable.
  1. Oh Purple Reign
  2. Hello Baileys
  3. Abstemious
