Useful performer; yet to sparkle for this yard in three starts although the last two have come in Listed company. Eased in grade here off a mark 9lb below the one she took this contest off last year; blinkers now given another try in a bid to revive.
This looks more realistic than the Listed grade she tried at Ayr last time having gained an AW handicap 6f win earlier in the year off a 1lb lower mark. Was disadvantaged last time despite the grade but has an awkward wide draw to cope with here.
Scored twice as a juvenile the second of those wins coming over this trip at Leicester in the autumn. Has run respectably without looking like winning in Group 3/Listed company this year; makes handicap debut now off what looks a fair enough mark.
Dual juvenile scorer (won first two starts) but has hit a barren spell ever since despite a positive start to the season (placed first three starts; went close in AW Listed event). Starting to look well handicapped; will appreciate this return to 6f.
Only win came on AW (6f); finished runner-up on last three starts (once over C&D) proving herself on turf during that time. Travels well in her races but carries the suspicion she does little off the bridle; cheekpieces now employed (first-time).
Form has taken an upturn of late (stable also in good form) with placed effort over this trip at York and Pontefract (ran into a very progressive sort at York). Looks on a fair mark and given her last two runs should be competitive in this.
Novice success over C&D as a juvenile remains her only success with her form this year being a little below that par. Not for the first time she looked a little awkward under pressure at Windsor last time; filly who needs everything to fall right.
All of her best form so far has come on the AW with wins at Wolverhampton and Lingfield over 5f (looks a useful performer on synthetics). Turf form reads 065 none of those displays really convincing that she acts as well on today's surface.
Forecasts
Pass The Gin (7/2), Chapelli (7/2), Come On Leicester (7/2), Be Like Me (9/2), Daffy Jane (6/1), Rock On Baileys (10/1), Fizzy Feet (25/1), Rose Berry (28/1)
Last year’s winner Rock On Baileys returns for another crack at this prize but isn’t in the same form as last year although she is off a 9lb lower mark, the headgear change needs to work. Come On Leicester will appeal to some despite the fact that she hasn’t got her head in front this year this is a drop-in grade; handicaps will give her more chance. Daffy Jane and Be Like Me have both been running well and should make their mark although the latter has to show more application in a finish. CHAPELLI is interesting though with the handicapper giving her a major chance, the draw perfect for her to attack and regain the winning thread.
- Chapelli
- Come On Leicester
- Daffy Jane
