Made perfect start to her career with two easy wins last autumn before respectable third in Listed race in France. Looked in need of the run when sixth in 1m Ripon handicap and likely to strip fitter for this. Claims.
Improvement seems to have stalled after Leicester win on debut last year. Disappointing in the Sandringham over C&D two starts ago before fifth in Sandown Listed contest. Vulnerable to less exposed horses.
Good form in novice company to date and made it two wins from three at Thirsk (1m, good to soft) on latest start. Fair mark for handicap debut and of interest for trainer whose horses improve with racing.
Lightly raced and has improved with every start, including when landing 1m Goodwood novice. Form of that race looks weak but on a reasonable mark for handicap debut and can't be discounted.
Well-bred daughter of Dubawi and got off the mark at third attempt of asking at Newmarket (1m, good) last time out. Well treated for this and has the scope for improvement. Leading contender.
Showed signs of a revival from flop over the round course here in May when second in 7f Salisbury Novice in June. Was still well-held that day and has a bit to prove in this company.
Been kept busy by her trainer this season and landed 1m2f Leicester handicap in May off today's racing mark. Comes into the race off the back of some heavy defeats and is the most exposed in the field. Makes little appeal.
Won Kempton novice on final start last season but failed to replicate that form this year and most recent last of five in 7f Haydock handicap suggest she's not good enough for this level.
Forecasts
Fabulist (7/4), Ummalnar (7/2), Loolwah (7/2), Be More (6/1), Modern Millie (7/1), Mums Hope (20/1), Quick (25/1), Sweet Charity (33/1)
In a race that seems to throw up a group-race performer down the line, LOOLWAH brings a significant amount of potential into the race and despite racing awkward and only just doing enough to win, she looks to be the one to beat and is the likeliest to be a black-type performer for a trainer whose horses excel with age. Fabulist cannot be ignored on the basis of her Newmarket victory but needs to prove herself on the likely fast conditions, while Ummalnar is lightly raced and could be anything for a yard who won this race last year.
- Loolwah
- Fabulist
- Ummalnar
