Half-sister to four winners including Group 1 winner Alpha Centauri. Respected debutante who has every chance. Market will provide the best clue as to whether she is ready first time up.
Well-bred Dark Angel filly who needs to pretty smart to win against some of these rivals. The betting market should provide a guide to what connections expect.
By Australia. Half-sister to a couple of winners and should produced a respectable debut effort at this track; expected to progress but maybe not up to winning a race yet.
Did little wrong when beaten into second on her latest start (front two pulled clear). This task looks easier and looks the one to beat before progressing to better things.
€1,100,000 full-sister to G1 Criterium International winner Johannes Vermeer and useful 7f-9f winner Elizabeth Browning, out of a 2-y-o 6f winner. Form of sole run at this track has worked out well and closely matched with stablemate Love.
Competitive Edge filly out of a Thewayyouare mare. Cost €32,000 as a yearling. Unfancied and ran a little green on his debut at the Curragh in may. Should improve but may find it hard against some well-bred rivals.
Cost 230,000 guineas as a yearling; 10th foal; closely related to 6f-7f winner Surfrider. Holds an entry in the Group 1 Moyglare Stakes in September and well regarded. Will improve on whatever happens here.
Forecasts
Love (5/6), Alpine Star (7/2), Soul Search (9/2), Petite Mustique (12/1), Azila (16/1), Point Reyes (25/1), Lampetia (33/1)
An interesting race to get things underway at Leopardstown. Eyes will be Alpine Star given her impeccable breeding and a confident market move would be interesting but it could be a race for those with racecourse experience which is why LOVE is the selection. She was beaten by a better horse last time out at the Curragh and can be expected to improve again. Petite Mustique may prove the best of the other O'Brien runners given his pleasing debut appearance at this track last month.

- Alpine Star
