Previous C&D winner whose best run of five this term was his only turf start when close third at Chepstow in May. 5lb lower now and has good claims seekings his ninth success. Top rider partners this veteran for first time.

Four AW wins for Sylvester Kirk and went close at Lingfield in March on second start for current yard. Not disgraced in three subsequent starts over hurdles but has poor Flat turf record failing to place in five previous attempts.

Brighton legend but has won elsewhere. 1m4f appears his optimum trip and hasn't convinced as a stayer on previous attempts. Down 9lb so far this term and has generally struggled so may find this tough.

Placed 3-11 for Ed Walker at up to 2m. Three starts for current yard, better effort when a keeping on sixth at Kempton last time at this trip. Still a maiden though and will do well to break his duck on recent evidence.

Hasn't won for over two years and lost his way last term running a series of poor races. Makes debut for new yard and is 13lb lower than his last win. Revival needed to figure and not seen since October. Has gone well fresh in past.

Won three handicap hurdle last season at up to 3m1f and placed 3-8 on Flat. Stayed on well over inadequate 1m3f last time here on AW and this more suitable trip gives him a sporting chance. Should be thereabouts under champion jockey.

Caused a 66/1 shock in 1m4f AW handicap here in December. Not disgraced two most recent runs over shorter trips so step up to two miles worth a try with good apprentice claiming valuable 5lbs.

Series of poor efforts in novice company prior to improved run when third here last time over 1m6f, staying on at finish. 1lb out of the handicap but not out of it if able to back up that run over 2f further.

Forecasts

Royal Hall (13/8), Fitzwilly (9/4), Sauchiehall Street (6/1), Essgee Nics (8/1), Roy Rocket (14/1), Millie May (16/1), Danglydontask (18/1), Mood For Mischief (25/1), Just Another Idea (50/1)

Verdict

Winning hurdler ROYAL HALL can come out on top in a trappy affair having put up a fair effort last time here over an inadequate trip. With the champion jockey on board he won't lack for enthusiasm from the saddle. Fitzwilly looks set to go well under top weight and holds fair claims, while Millie May and Essgee Nics are both moderate but may improve over this longer trip. Old Roy Rocket would be a hugely popular winner but hasn't been at his best of late and is a doubtful stayer.
