An ultra-consistent filly; has a very simple style of running (races prominently); carries a 6lb penalty for making all in a 6f Pontefract classified stakes (good to firm) nine days ago.
Most productive on the AW (2-5) but hasn't improved for a gelding operation; was tried in a visor at Chester (7f) when finishing sixth of nine to Gabrial The Wire; is easing in the weights.
7lb higher than when driven out by Nathan Evans to beat Molaaheth by 1¼L at Doncaster (6f, good) in April; didn't manage to negotiate the clearest of paths there latest (soft) when a close fourth to the William Haggas-trained Celtic Manor; solid.
Turf maiden (0-8); has lost his way since scoring on Tapeta at Newcastle (6f) in April; has plenty of work to do with Socru on recent Doncaster form; visor newly applied.
Wears first-time cheekpieces seeking that extra edge; has shown a consistent level of form with cut underfoot, including when headed close home (third) by Murdanova over C&D (soft) latest; C&D form figures of 243.
Has struggled to make a positive impression since making all to win by 3L in a 6f Ripon fillies' novice last August; she's continuing to ease in the weights and this track could suit her run style, but she does face competition up-front; 7f?
Off the mark at the fifth attempt in a C&D maiden (soft) last month; the handicapper has taken evasive action (9lb rise); he may be flattered by that showing with the third-placed horse pedestrian-like in defeat at Ripon on Monday.

Forecasts
Beryl The Petal (7/2), Socru (7/2), Stronsay (4/1), Evie Speed (5/1), Bumbledom (6/1), Woodside Wonder (8/1), Ghathanfar (8/1), Bugler Bob (12/1)
A tricky contest in which a strong early pace appears guaranteed with the likes of the consistent Beryl The Petal, Evie Speed and the Shadwell cast-off Ghathanfar in the line-up. Stronsay merits consideration on the strength of his previous C&D exploits, but worryingly could be caught out by the forecast quicker ground, while the recent C&D maiden winner Bumbledom appears flattered by that form. Therefore, this race could be set up perfectly for a fast-finishing SOCRU who could provide the evergreen popular Yorkshire trainer Mick Easterby with yet another winner.
- Socru
- Beryl The Petal
- Ghathanfar
