Cost 300,000 gns as a yearling and dam is a half-sister to useful Group 3 winner Norse Dancer. Closely related to multiple winners between 7f and 1m2f and notable if there is market support on his debut.
Showed significant promise to be sent off 15/2 for the Britannia Stakes at Royal Ascot. Well-beaten 17th that day but previous form is a standard above his rivals. This looks a good opportunity to notch a win.
Shown extremely little in two starts to date and was last seen finishing a distant 10th in weak Wolverhampton novice contest last month. This looks a tough ask.
Son of world champion 1m2f performer So You Think but disappointed on racecourse debut when distant sixth at Salisbury (1m2f, good to firm). Drops to 1m for this but best watched on that effort.
Well held in two starts last year, including over 6f at this track and makes his return from 340 days off the track. Opposable ahead of return from lengthy absence.
Progressed significantly from debut run when narrow second in 1m2f Chelmsford novice contest when last seen in November. Has a lengthy absence to overcome but is one for the shortlist.
Half-sister to several winners but never featured when 10th of 11 at Newmarket (1m, good) on her racecourse debut. Drastic improvement required to be competitive.
Pulled too hard on her seasonal return at Sandown in April (1m2f, good to firm) in late April. Needs to learn to settle if she is to contend in this race, but horses from such a top yard can't be ignored.
Well beaten in two starts to date, including when an outpaced ninth in 6f contest at this track last time. Offers very little appeal.
Wasn't disgraced when sixth over C&D on debut, but took a keen hold that day and weakened tamely. Could be one for the future and place claims if she has learnt to race more sensibly.
Result Amended
Global Hunter - Original Position 2nd. Amended Position 1st.
King Ademar - Original Position 1st. Amended Position 2nd.
Forecasts
King Ademar (1/3), Global Hunter (7/2), Waterfront (5/1), Nantucket (8/1), Teemlucky (33/1), So Strictly (50/1), Set Point Charlie (100/1), Time Trialist (100/1), Eventura (100/1), Red Moon Lady (100/1)
A weak-looking maiden contest which looks like the prime opportunity for KING ADEMAR to post a victory next to his name. He sets a standard on his previous form and did have excuses on his latest start at Royal Ascot, and is the one to beat in a vastly easier contest. Waterfront should have the necessary progression this season to be competitive in handicaps down the lines and is an interesting contender, while the well-bred Global Hunter should run with credit on his racecourse debut.
- King Ademar
- Waterfront
- Global Hunter
