Jockey booking immediately takes the eye in an event such as this although this one will need to better his recent efforts (disappointing since his win at Beverley in April off this mark). Likes to go from the front (did too much too soon last time).
Might well have been freshened up by a change of stable (third run for this yard) having finished second last time (still to win a race) at Windsor over this trip. Did best of those from off the pace, looks to be coming to the boil; off same mark.
Yet to race over this far (furthest and latest win came at 1m; Hamilton, latest start) but looks as though he may well stay this trip. Can be slow away/race lazily but does find for pressure; scope from this mark but does need things to fall his way.
Not in the best form this year (failed to come on from his reappearance) but has slipped back below the mark that he won this race off last year under today's pilot. Came into last year's race in better however and needs improve on form so far.
Useful in his prime when with Richard Hannon (rated in the high 90's) but nowhere near that form of late with the losing run starting to mount. Continues to fall in the weights without looking ready to take advantage (dangerous if finding form).
Joined a yard that does well with new recruits, off to a winning start at Wolverhampton earlier in the week over 1m1f. Under a 5lb penalty here but still looks well weighted on her old form (won off this mark twice); leading chance to follow up.
Usually slowly away and has ground to make up on Luna Magic on their AW form earlier in the week (beaten 12L). Given too much to do in that meeting his strike-rate is only a modest one (1-34); not the most straightforward of rides for an amateur.
Needs to show that she can act on turf as well as on the AW (yet to win on turf, six wins on AW). Well handicapped on her synthetics form but ran poorly on turf last time; now tried in blinkers (first-time) which need to produce a positive effect.
Well beaten on all three starts this season it's hoped that the return off this rider has a constructive influence (aboard for his last win). Slipped well below his last winning mark if he can find some form but does come with questions to answer.
Her two starts for this yard since joining them can be described as respectable and no more, finishing fourth both times at Yarmouth over 1m3f. Often slow away she was disadvantaged by where she raced last time; could outrun her likely odds.
Not the easiest to predict his form since returning from wind surgery is only modest (better than a dismal 2018 campaign). Fifth earlier in the week at Musselburgh under a change of tactics (prominent ride); others more persuasive.
Looks modest at best and remains a maiden after 12 starts (0-5 for this yard) faring poorly last time (tongue-tie on first-time, left off here). Makes little appeal despite the basement mark even in this humble affair.
Forecasts
Luna Magic (11/8), Blue Medici (3/1), Bollin Ted (6/1), Glacier Fox (11/1), Misty Breese (16/1), Spirit Of Sarwan (16/1), Contrast (20/1), Windsorlot (20/1), Prosecute (25/1), Dutch Artist (25/1), Sunshineandbubbles (25/1), Angelical Eve (80/1)
First port of call here may be Bollin Ted who won this last year off a 1lb higher mark but doesn’t come here in quite the same form this time around which rather tempers enthusiasm for him. Blue Medici showed last time that he’s interesting from this mark and the likely strong pace should suit him as he strives for his first win. That bid may be thwarted by LUNA MAGIC a scorer earlier in the week on the AW who looked to come back to her best for her new yard; given her previous form the 5lb penalty shouldn’t one that will stop her following up. Contrast would be very dangerous off this mark if he did find some form while Misty Breese is capable of outrunning her likely double-figure odds.
- Luna Magic
- Blue Medici
- Misty Breese
