Switched stables after previously being trained by Ralph Beckett. Showed nothing when representing that yard and is impossible to fancy on his return from a 990-day absence. Best watched.

Half-brother to a winner over sprinting trips and the dam enjoyed success over 5f-7f, so it is interesting that he starts out over as far as this on his racecourse debut. Hard to know what to expect.

Fair form on both starts to date and the way the race panned out last time probably didn't suit. This is by far the weakest assignment he has been tasked with. Disappointment if he wasn't able to prove a class apart from this field.

Tailed-off on debut at Haydock (1m4f; heavy). Likely to encounter vastly different conditions now but still has masses to find on the basis of that first time out effort. Readily opposed.

By Mukhadram. Has been gelded ahead of his racecourse debut. Half-brother to a couple of winners over shorter than this. Yard is out of form. Best watched unless the market speaks positively in his favour.

Another newcomer. By Noble Mission. Gelded ahead of debut. Half-brother to three winners who enjoyed success over trips ranging from 5f-1m so hard to have any idea how he will fare over this trip on debut.

French import making debut for this yard. 0-5. Hard to gauge the strength of what he achieved when making the frame on three of his five starts. Market may be the best guide to his chances.

37,000gns foal. Daughter of Iffraaj. Related to stayers and it would be no surprise to see her make her presence felt on debut in a race where many can be ruled out with confidence.

Verdict

Sir Michael Stoute has an impressive 33% strike-rate when sending his runners to Carlisle and DANTE'S VIEW should have no trouble improving upon that record. He has achieved fair form on both starts and wasn't beaten far in a competitive small-field affair which wasn't run to suit at Pontefract last time. The demands of this track should be to his liking and he can get off the mark at the third attempt. Looking for realistic alternatives is not easy, but perhaps the French recruit Yellow Tiger can prove next best on his debut for Mark Johnston ahead of the newcomer Baladio who is the standout debutante in the field and should have a future over trips such as this one.
