Likes it at this venue and although he must put the disappointing run he produced here last week behind him coupled with the fact he has top-weight, he still has to be worth another chance.
Form of his win at Salisbury (7f; good to firm) two starts back has since been franked, and he followed that up with a respectable second at Newmarket (1m; good to soft). Up another 2lb which shouldn't prove a problem and he is hard to knock.
Produced a solid pair of runner-up efforts of late (one of them over C&D). Only beaten a neck at Chester (7f; good) last week and he is a huge player when in current mood. Still fairly lightly raced too.
Suffered a heavy defeat on return to these shores when last at Beverley (1m2f; good to soft). Has masses to prove now, as he steps down in trip from 1m2f to 1m. Best watched.
Just behind Tadaawol who reopposes today when third over C&D in May. 2lb lower than that mark now but form has been up and down since and he doesn't have the most convincing of profiles overall.
Only beaten a head by the progressive Jackhammer in the Carlisle Bell Consolation Race last time over C&D. Was only beaten a neck on seasonal bow prior to that run too, but is 6lb higher in the handicap now. Looks set to run into a place once more.
In terrific form at present and posted another consistent effort when runner-up behind Stringybark Creek at Beverley (1m; good) last time. Up 4lb but should be capable of producing another consistent run.
Has failed to improve for switch to new yard and he would need to produce a major revival to feature in this contest. Plenty of other more convincing alternatives who are in vastly better form.
Form has curtailed the last twice with two ninth-placed finishes at Doncaster (1m; soft) and Goodwood (1m1f; good). This isn't much easier than either of those assignments so he remains best watched for the time being.

It will be fascinating to see whether there is similarly positive market vibes for Tukhoom as there was on Thursday when he made his stable debut for David O'Meara. He didn't run a bad race despite finishing fifth, and if he is ridden with just a touch more restraint he should post an improved effort. With his glittering course record (three-time C&D winner), Tadaawol must be afforded another chance after producing a below-par effort in the Carlisle Bell last week. However, MARSHAL DAN is hard to fault after winning at Salisbury (the form of which has been franked) coupled with a string of respectable placed efforts, and he can continue on his upward curve.
- Marshal Dan
- Tadaawol
- Tukhoom
