Failed to convince so far over fences looking very disinterested in a small-field affair last time when an odds-on chance. That underlined what a frustrating character he's become over fences, even off a chasing career-low mark he's unsafe.

4/1
Hurdles/bumper winner who looked improved sort straight away when taking her chasing bow at Warwick recently (has won in point-to-points). Jumped well enough, eventually beaten 6L; first run back from a wind op, mark looks fine.

16/1
Irish point-to-point/hurdles winner who appears to be taking his time over fences (0-4 so far) although he looked to need the run last time. Did stop quickly last time (now had a wind op); tongue-tie goes on first-time, yard in good form.

Fair form in bumpers/over hurdles but looks to have come more into his own over fences putting his debut chasing experience to good use at Kempton (jumped well, made all). Up 4lb last time (1lb lower here), still unexposed/more to come.

Late error looked to have cost her making it 2-3 over fences since having a wind op at Stratford last time having won off a 4lb lower mark at Warwick the time before. Jumping mistakes have cost her in the past so will need to keep those to a minimum.

Had been threatening to win over fences prior to being well supported at Uttoxeter to get off the mark in this sphere (drew well clear to win 5l). Given how he shaped there he ought to be able to get involved here off 6lb higher.

Has looked a rather temperamental sort over fences particularly at Stratford on his penultimate start. On the plus side his two chase starts over C&D have shown more and a better attitude; still precarious to support.

On a real roll over hurdles in the spring completing a hurdles hat-trick (doing well to hold things together); forced up in grade after that, saw the end of his winning run. Looks to be given a stiff task from out of the weights on his chasing debut.

Forecasts

Court Duty (5/2), Grageelagh Girl (4/1), Risk And Roll (5/1), Malangen (11/2), Templepark (13/2), Old Harry Rocks (11/1), Kilcara (12/1), Ofcourseiwill (16/1)

Verdict

An open contest and it may pay to side with one who still has scope for more progression over fences in the shape of TEMPLEPARK who ran well last time despite looking unsuited by the drop to 2m, this sterner test should suit him well. Court Duty has struck up a good accord with Paddy Brennan and his Uttoxter win was a good reward for some consistent efforts with a 6lb rise unlikely to hinder him unduly. Risk And Roll ought to be competitive in this but he’s more like the former part of his name and looked thoroughly disinterested last time. Both mares’ in Grageelagh Girl and Kilcara add some strength in depth although the latter will have to avoid any jumping errors.
  1. Templepark

  3. Grageelagh Girl
